Drove 4 hours for my birthday dinner.......
So Saturday (9-3) was my birthday, and when the wife asked what I wanted to do Meers came to mind. Anyone ever been? Its out past Lawton, and a pretty good drive. About 4.5 hours with pee breaks and eating breakfast. So we make the long drive because at this "Meers Store" they slaughter their own fresh beef, brew their own beer, it's supposed to be frreakin amazing!
We get to the point of physically SEEING the store (30 yards in the distance or so) and get stopped by Johnny Law who tells us to turn around because the fire is getting "to darn close to let people be eatin hamburgers". The Mesa, about a half mile from the store was on fire, so they closed the town.
Happy birthday what a deal?! It gets better, last time I tried to go I annihilated a family of raccoons on the way to Meers, taking out the bumper, condenser, and radiator on the black stang and had to have it towed home.
I am destined to NEVER have a Meers burger.......so I was thinking....road trip one day? Maybe safety in numbers. Because obviously I'll never make it on my own. On the plus side we did get a hotel in Bricktown and had a blast bar hopping. Just no Meers burger :-( Oh and Happy Birthday to me!

Wow Jimmy, damn the luck!
I've never heard of it, and been to Lawton many times.
Lots of places around the state I've wanted to go, but never been.

I think we should go as a club, the scenery was great and the drive was nice, if you go straight its 3 hours. If you b.s. and go through the city and all that it's about 5.
Oh, and thanks for the happy b'days! It was alot of fun. City was cool!!!
