IRS Upgrades Empty IRS Upgrades

Post by 03.sonicblue 8/16/2011, 10:25 am

I am looking at getting the IRS upgrades done to my cobra. Bushings, Braces, etc. Do any of the cobra owners want to go in together and try and do a group buy on them? Might save us a little bit of money. Thoughts??

Shit. I just looked. My list is over $6k without a twin screw or cooling it more efficiently, or upgrading the fuel or including the cost of a MM of FTBR IRS bushing kit (and is missing a lot of other parts too, but does include some appearance parts).....

Jerry. Jerry. Coby. Coby. Anyone? I'm gonna want to get this pinned down somewhat soon (for a wintertime project). If I hear nothing, I'm gonna go ahead and get ordering soon....

I was looking to try and do something this winter. I haven't completely decided yet on what I want to do. I was hoping to get myself, Zac, Coby and Dein in on a group buy all get the same stuff and help each other install it. Thats my thoughts, haven't put anything together yet.

I've got my list ready to go. Just need to know which brands/vendors you were looking at.

For my suspension list I have:
Maximum Motorsports FLSFC's black powercoated. They need to be welded in (anyone know of anyone in Tulsa that can do this properly and without burning up the interior?) and the powercoat where the welds go needs to be ground off

And either:
Maximum Motorsports "Basics" IRS rear grip package
Or
FTBR (Full Tilt Boogie Racing) IRS kit

LPW differential brace

Eibach Pro Kit springs

Maximum Motorsports caster/camber plates

differential mount bushings

I am unsure about replacing the sway bar end links and the swaybar bushings; or if replacing the Cross-Axis joint is worthwhile, or if replacing the outer tie-rod ends to correct for rear bumpsteer is worthwhile, or if an adjustable tie rod kit is worthwhile (this also fixes the rear bumpsteer, so the outer tie-rod ends kit wouldn't be needed)......or if I will need to correct front end bumpsteer after the drop from the springs

I really gotta call MM and/or FTBR to see what would be needed/best for my needs to get a set list. Also, a set of Level 5 half shafts wouldn't be a bad idea whilst doing the IRS brace and all the IRS bushing changes either

I've been in touch with Mike at Pinnacle to see what he can do on pricing. I am looking at: Differential Bushings, subframe conectors, subframe bushings, Irs mount brackets. I already have the brace. I also need the Diff cover re sealed.

I'm getting ready to order up some MM flsfc's. I need someone to weld them in. You think he would do it?
Can you let me know what he quotes you on the install so when I order up my bushings, I know what to expect on install cost? A ballpark figure would be fine. PM me if needed.......
