P0340 Cam Pos Sensor Code

Anyone pull this code before? I tripped it trying to chase down a certain Sonic Blue Terminator. The car seems to be running fine and after clearing it I didnt get it back again so I am thinking maybe the sensor doesnt like 6500rpm but I was hoping someone had already messed around with this problem.

Never seen that code. Just be glad it wasn't displaying "Failsafe Engine Mode" and your car starts stuttering and missing like a '75 Granada I used to own. That'll make your day.

I think I found it. THe plug was not on good. I pushed it on further and it snapped on. Now we will see if the code comes back. Me thinks not.

Maybe its a lack of boost sensor :biggrin:

I did a search on google, one of the other forums said that replacing the alternator fixes this problem. Sounds weird, but might be worth a try if it keeps becoming a problem

Sweet, Will that work? Dude your a lifesaver. So I can tie the string on the wire to keep it from coming loose? Do I shove the big part in the power steering so it wont leak? Thats sweet, dual purpose.. I am going to get it now. The site says I can buy them localy and it comes in a multi pack so if anyone wants to go in on a group buy let me know. Maybe we can get it cheaper.
