Nitrous Plate Question
Almost have all my parts together to do the install. Have a question for anyone that is running either a 3/8 or 1/2 inch nitrous plate on their 4.6. What nozzles are you using for a wet setup? Been looking at nozzles and just not sure which ones to go with. Do I block off one side and just run a shark nozzle or run separate nozzles for fuel and Nitrous on either side of the plate? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Nitrous Plate Question
I run a Nitrous Express plate system. It's safe and simple. I think my plate is about 1/2" thick with a spray bar. How thick a plate you use depends on the thread size of the nozzle.
P.S. I periodically look around and read threads. I'm just usually too busy or too lazy, or both, to post anything usually. :)

Sorry, I don't post much. I've been covered up with stuff lately, and usually just read through real quick to see what's goin on.

Re: Nitrous Plate Question
Found my answer.. With the 1/2 inch plate I have I need to block off one side and just go ahead and use my shark nozzle on the other side. Since it doesn't have a spray bar Im guessing this is the only way to make this work.

Re: Nitrous Plate Question
I'd guess so. Just make sure you have a good spray direction and pattern into the opening so you get good even distribution to all the cylinders.

Re: Nitrous Plate Question
The only thing I would be worried about with that type of a set up is the spray not being spread evenly across a fairly large opening in the manifold. The spray tip not being centered across the opening, Which might give unequal distribution. A plate spreads the spray evenly across the width of the opening. IDK. I'm no expert. :)

Re: Nitrous Plate Question
So I wonder if there was a way to add a spray bar to that tapped spacer.

Re: Nitrous Plate Question
I seriously doubt it, unless you know someone who has their own machine shop.

Re: Nitrous Plate Question
Doug, you have a point. I'll stop saving money and buy a real plate system. I can use this stuff on the GTP.

Re: Nitrous Plate Question
the problem is that most, if not all nitrous suppliers sell only an assembled plate. They won't sell you just the spray bar because they are machined to tight tolerances (usually +/- .0025"), and pressed then sealed in. Not overly difficult. Just has to be very precise, and cannot be done with a drill in your garage or you'll get uneven flow and distribution, and end up with a big ol KABOOM.

Re: Nitrous Plate Question
Couple things to mention that I didn't hear if you had in your kit or not that will make a difference in producing power and producing scrap metal is a bottle heater and a purge line. If u don't have these I'd look into it.

Re: Nitrous Plate Question
HSW makes some good products. I am using their nozzle kit and its been trouble free for 3+ years now. I really like their new nitrous controller...

It can take the place of a number of different safety switches often used with nitrous. Eventually, I am planning on getting one for my setup.

I like that, probably not too much of a pain to wire in either from the looks of it.
