18" wheel on 2011 Shelby?
After looking around no one makes a competition tire that will fit the 2010/2011 Shelbys with 19" and 20" wheels (Mine has the SVT PP). The question is will an 18" wheel fit over the front brake rotor or do I have to wait for Nitto to catch up with the times?

Re: 18" wheel on 2011 Shelby?
Should fit. Pretty sure you have the same front brakes as I do on my 07.
I've been running into the same problem but in a different way. I want to use the 19" 2010 Shelby wheels on my car but I know as soon as I increase power I'm going to need to run a drag radial or similar at all times and there just really aren't any choices out there for the 19" wheel right now.

Look at the RTR wheels if you want a close match to the SVT wheels.
A lot of guys on the Shelby forum are fitting Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires on these for fall/winter driving.

BJ and I tried to put some 18s on his 09 gt500 but the fronts would not fit over the brakes. I know they can fit 18s just have to make sure they are specifically made for the bigger brakes.

Ive heard great things from those DWS tires. Might be picking some of those up at some point. Still looking for a replacement tire for summer time fun. Looking at the Ntto NT05s

Do you not like the F1 tires? I've been pretty impressed with them. But they are pricey.

I have found them to be lacking in grip. They are great for cornering, but lack the compound to really handle straight line torque. I have done a ton of research....and found that most out there agree...the F1s are just not doing the job. And for the price...they are a down right dissapointment. There are a lot of tires out there that are half the price and out perform the F1s. I am looking into this for the spring. I will let you know what I end up getting and throw some feedback your way.

Re: 18" wheel on 2011 Shelby?
There is a Road and Track article on these tires this month. They used a set of G1 & G2 tires on a Z06 vette and ran them on a track. The verdict was that the new G2s were far better on a cornering track. Of course they did not test them in a drag race scenario which is what most here are interested in.

What backspacing and offset do you need to fit a 18"x11" wheel in the rear? I want to run 315's for track days.
