Oldies and Goodies Car Show Bartlesville OK- May 15

Well that was quick and harsh . . .

Monitoring the weather.... Mother Nature is just not playing nice. Here's the scoop.... It it looks like it did this morning (a complete wash out)... we'll cancel. If it's just passing sowers... we're on.

I'll update as needed... but monitor this thread for the final word. As is the past.... If we cancel, I'll post and send notification by 6am.

Car washed, vacuum, and ready. Just have to wipe off what ever get on the car tonight and tomorrow. Toughing up the engine bay now.

I made some beer bread to bring. Hope the rain holds out. Are we allowed to bring adult beverages?

Mmmmm Beer bread. Love it. Anything made with Beer, Chocolate, dipped in cheese or deep fried... is a WIN!

As far as adult beverages... BMMC does not condone drinking and driving. However, we do condone drinking! ;0

I have fielded several calls from KS – Ponca –
Tulsa about our show and several others have as well.







Our President – Jim French – says the show will
go on unless we get lightning - hail or tornado. Chuck said YES – (he gets
his bedroom back which is now full of stuff for the show)







We have lots of cash and some NICE gifts from over 135 local
merchants to give away (Thanks Chuck) so the participants odds go up as
participation goes down.

Very foggy and damp down here in OKC. I may wait to see whether it lifts soon. Car will get almost as dirty as it would in a right-out rain storm. And it's clean enough right now to last for Mid-America; well, at least till the first track session in the rain there, anyhow And I'm getting too old to clean the darn thing every other week

I pulled out of the garage and within 5 seconds it was covered with mist. Undeterred (well, mostly), I headed for the interstate (2 miles). By the time I got there and merged onto the highway, conditions just kept getting worse. I pulled off at the next exit and headed for Starbuck's to "think" about it.

I decided when I bought this car, that whatever happened on the race track happened. Rain, shine, rock chips, wrecks... was just part of the deal. I was going to ENJOY this car! And I have honored that decision faithfully. The only rain this car has seen (aside from a brief shower in Colorado) has been on the race track, (at least 3 times so far). I'll gladly clean that mess with a smile on my face.

But darn it, I just wasn't going to enjoy the trip up the turnpike! It's already taken me an hour just to wipe off the shiney parts. Next is the under-carriage!

Sorry guys, I'll just see you at Hallett next month. Have fun, and someone win that engine..............again..............

Yea, I pulled out also Jeff, had to go to work for a hour this morning anyways. I didn't feel like cleaning my wheels all days cause of the rain, polished aluminum a pita! Hope the turnout was good though, just wish it was sunny.

Had a great turnoout and time! Had some good laughs! Had a little rain and drizzle on the way up and some very lite drizzle when we first got there. Other than that... it was really nice.


We won the club participating! Hector, Sandy and Casi all won $100+ and everyone pretty much won a door prize. No grand prize this year.... :(
