Thanks TPD!!! 2 Thumbs up!
I know it's long but i thought it was worth sharing, the worst part? Think of this when you get to the end...Im going to college to BE ONE OF THESE GUYS.
So.....typical Thurs Night???? Leave school, go by Wal-Mart on Admiral and hit 244 at about 845, at Yale (im speeding) a black Crown Vic gets next to me in the left lane, and I slow down just enough to make out the "Arkansas" tag. Realizing he cant do anything to me I continue on at about 75 and he brakes and pulls behind me, and lites me up (red/blue) so i stay where i am, call *55 (OHP) and start telling them whats going on. After about 45 seconds he gets about 6 feet off my ass so i whip over, slow down andcrank the wheel to get behind him and he turns his lights off and takes off. I tell OHP that I would feel guilty if later they did the "Fake cop rape a girl" trick and i want to stay on the line until they get there. I stay on him, we go left at the construction and west on 51 and he exits Houston by OSU Medical and the OHP advises that TPD is blocks away and stay with him if i can. So at Houston he heads south to 13th, misses the corner, goes over a curb, slams on the brakes and gets out holding a large handgun. I freak, yell GUN in the phone and drop it, slam reverse and do the Hollywood "reverse-to-forwards" turn and come within inches of catching TPD head-on. Super cop gets out yelling at me, im yelling GUN and pointing and finally he pulls his weapon on the guy and tells me to "RUN AND TAKE COVER" which I did, in his car. More cops show up, arrest the guy, take my statement, and what do I get for my good efforts of getting someone off the streets that could be a MAJOR danger to the public you ask????? 2 warnings, 1 for taillights being black, and one for my license plate being smoked. Thanks TPD. Did we lay off the smart ones?

Well, today a Lt. from TPD called me to apologize for the warnings. Apperantly he didnt actualy feel bad about it (cause as he put it "Breaking the law is breaking the law" ) but he felt as though it made them look bad in the publics eyes. No shit, really?

Nope, no news, no hero award, just doing what I thought was right. The whole thing lasted less than 90 minutes. Apperantly the guy has warrants out for immitating a police officer, and has been in jail before for sexual assult.

Re: Thanks TPD!!! 2 Thumbs up!
Heres a tip for you, if you ever question the vehicle pulling you over, call and ask 911 dispatch if someone is trying to pull you over. They will radio the officer to verify and then let you know. At that point you know it is safe. I always try to pull over in well lit areas and well off to the side of the road. Always have your hands up on the wheel at ten and two. If its dark out, rolll down your windows and turn on your interior lights. Anything you can do to calm the officer that the situation he is about to get into is safe, will go a long way for you. If you have passengers, make sure their hands stay visible at all times. My .02 worth

Ditto Jerry's suggestions; and to those I add stay in your car and let the officer approach you - don't jump out and run back to their car. And, if you have a carry permit and have a weapon on you or in your vehicle tell the officer immediately! I might add that crying=immediate citation with me. (Men or women.)

The best way to get out of a ticket is to not be doing anything to get one in the first place.
