Pearl Harbor Day.
68 years ago today America entered into the the greatest world wide struggle for democracy ever. Period.
While the war started a few years before America actually entered the war.... (Britain was getting pounded and other European countries had fallen and already flying the Nazi flag) There was a sector of America that were considered "isolationist". These individuals wanted us to stay out of the new "European war". Some of these including the names such as Charles Lindbergh and the president FDR.
All of that changed on Dec 7th 1941. The country united for one cause and that cause was just. To defeat fascism and aggression. That period in our (albeit) short history defined us as a nation.
It was a truly the greatest time in our history.
I remember and honor our vets and past and present! Thank you!

Re: Pearl Harbor Day.
Amen. It makes me wonder what would have happened if Obama was commander in chief during the assult on Pearl. The men and women of that time would roll over in their graves if they knew we had elected a president who for all intents and purposes is cut of the same cloth as the German fascist That cost so many lives to overthrow. It makes me furious and sad to wonder how we as a country have gone so far in the wrong direction?

alright kiddes time for a history lesson.... Lindbergh flew with the 475th from june 27th to august 12th, 1944 until he was sent to to owi island to help improve the efficiency of the f4u corsair during dive bombing missions. during his time as a civil consultant he flew some 50 combat missions. The U.S. Marine and Army Air Force pilots who served with Lindbergh praised his courage and defended his patriotism
and that concludes the history lesson for today, tommarow we'll cover how to not mistake paul for a yard nome when mowing the lawn(its for your safety paul)

he was rejected by the air force for active duty because he was such an icon, they felt that if he was lost during combat the blow to moral would be devastating.

this comes from Lindbergh's own biographical website. http://www.charleslindbergh.com
"While in Europe, Lindbergh was invited by the governments of France and Germany to tour the aircraft industries of their countries. Lindbergh was especially impressed with the highly advanced aircraft industry of Nazi Germany. In 1938, Hermann Goering, a high Nazi official, presented Lindbergh with a German medal of honor. Lindbergh's acceptance of the medal caused an outcry in the United States among critics of Nazism."
it was also no secret that Lindbergh was an anti-war advocate and outspoken about our attempts and fight to irradicate communism and nazism. just because someone serves our country doesnt mean theyre a saint. also, did you know that Lindbergh moved to Europe? away from the country that gave him a wealthy life. youre welcome Charles, you douche.
Re: Pearl Harbor Day.
Ok... Skippy... He was part of a group called "America First" which was an isolationism organization. It was actually a very popular group until Dec 7th.
Yancy is also right, he DID receive the German equivalent to the medal of of honor. He did not accept it, but was always suspected of being a Nazi sympathizer. Probably because of his German name and heritage and his involvement in the America First movement. He also was not big into war bond drives that were so popular among the famous people of the days. He often shied away from participating in them. This also also lead to the Nazi sympathizer stigma.
Heres a site to study. http://www.charleslindbergh.com/americanfirst/index.asp
Tomorrow's lesson will cover how to move out of Mommy and Daddy's house.
