Eibach Sportlines on my Parnelli Edition.
Hey guys! I finally installed my Sportline Springs and dumped my ride! The Saleen springs already took it to what the Eibach Pros would have been, these take it a little further....
Here's some before and after shots:
Before:
After:
Installation went well. I used a buddy's lift and tools. The Watt's link rear-end had me stumped because I didn't know at first how much of it to disassemble in order to drop the axle, but it was pretty quick - about an hour and 45 minutes for the front and back. The 19 inch wheels work out well at this height. No rubbing issues on wheel lock, etc... I expect a little more drop after I put some miles on these springs but so far no clearance issues. The ride is about that same 'harshness' on bumps as the Saleen springs were, maybe a bit worse on bumps or holes, but I don't plan on going 4x4ing in this thing, either.
Awesome way to spend a couple hundred bucks IMHO.
Cheers!
Chuck

Looks good Chuck! That dropped what looks like another 3/4 inch at least.

Re: Eibach Sportlines on my Parnelli Edition.
I have to interject that the Saleen springs do NOT drop it to the same level as the Eibach Pro-kit.
If you want the drop, from top to bottom, it goes Saleen's, then Eibach Pro-kit, then Eibach Sportlines.
I LOVE the low-rider look of the Sportlines (I think everyone does!), but as on every-other mustang, I'll go with the 'pro-kit', as it's not as low as the sportlines, but perfectly 'low' for what I'm looking for (and I think that's why the pro-kit has worked so well in the past - why they're trying to change it is beyond me

Re: Eibach Sportlines on my Parnelli Edition.
Good point, just I've heard from others on Saleen forums that thought they were gonna get a good drop from Eibach Pro Kit and didn't see much, if any, difference from their Saleen ride height. The Saleen springs were good quality and had the handling part down, just they didn't drop the car like I would prefer. This is why I ended up with the the lower Eibach springs. After putting some more miles in different riding situations, I'm not feeling a huge difference in terms of ride quality, so other than having to take a diagonal approach to some steep ramps, I don't know what the benefit of the longer springs are, unless you just don't want a low look.
I don't want anyone to be mislead. My drop would have been severe from a stock GT spring, but from a Saleen spring it wasn't that much.
Cheers,
Chuck
