I need Windows Vista

Well my hard drive crashed on my main computer I'm buying a new hard drive but I don't have a windows vista to install on it. Anyone have the cd?

I never have figured out why everyone hates vista so much. Maybe I don't use my computer to its fullest, but I have never had any problems with vista for the last year or so I been using it.

In fact i just bought a new grunt PC for my kitchen and it's running Vista. I was going to format it and install XP back on it, but since it's just mainly used to surf and email (The Wife's computer ...so it doesn't really do any work) I'm going to load Win7 on it and see how it is. It will be my test platform.

I also bought a external HD... One terabit bitches! That'll hold all my BMMC pics and crap!

Without geeking out too much... if you are joe user, you'll be fine in general. But for IT people... they won't touch it. there's a lot of issues with it but mainly, It's a pig. Meaning it takes a lot more machine to run vista than xp. Not to mention you get a "are you sure you wanna fn do that?!" prompt with every command.

You won't see anyone in and IT shop running vista. ..

Yea, thats what I figured, I just use it for internet, games, movies, porn (shhhh) etc!

Well, I'm not a fan of Vista. Just need something that will work fast and not give me a bunch of crap. I have one computer still running windows 2000 and I seem to like vista better.

Well looks like I got hooked up with Vista. I know alot of people don't like it. But can anyone really tell me why other than the window promps

My main gripe is it locks up all the time. The fact that it repositioned all the compands and makes them harder to find and execute is mainly an annoyance....

I have a Mac. Super happy with it and runs like a champ. Never had a blue screen. Had one small problem a few days back with a Kernal Error, Downloaded some upadates and problem solved. I am super happy. Oh and I partitioned my harddrive so I run both mac and PC at the same time, but rarely use the PC.

Once you go mac, you never go back.

I've never really had any problems with Vista either - but I'm anal about running Ccleaner, etc. to keep the registry and other stuff in order; I think that's where most people are having the problems.

Blair... What's your specs on you computer. I bet the reason it locks up is because of hardware... Remember Vista is a pig.

2 gig of ram will run vista and thats it... dont plan on having more than one program open.... it is amazing how many times you have to click "allow" when installing anything....

not to mention if you install sofware that bill gates doesn't have his hands in... good luck running it for prolong periods of time....

HOPEFULLY, they learned they're lesson over the past couple years. Apple has been handing it to them as of late. They have to realize they're not the only players in the game anymore.

My next "real computer" will be an Apple. Looking at getting the MacBook Pro for work. It's the shiznit...

alot of the programs I need are not mac compatible. One VERY important one is VeraWorks. This one runs the printer. I know it all could be done just more steps. I really don't want to mess with learning all the different stuff associated with the mac. Oh ya, Flexi is having troubles with mac as well. And this one is my cutting software.
