Re: whos in the dyno know?
I dont think there is a group dyno planned anytime soon. Most of us have already been on the Dyno and know where we are at. I would just say call around and see if you can get in somewhere.
David (gt500) went to Humble here in Tulsa. They have a dynojet (which I like) and were only charging like $40

Re: whos in the dyno know?
Jared, I would call Greg (KBCal) and see what you can schedule with him. If you want data logging and A/F thats a bit much for a weekend tech event. I would schedule a time with him, let him get some pulls and see where you need to make adjustments, vs a quick 3 pulls and your done scenario
Or what Jarrod suggested

Call Greg. You want someone that knows Fords... not Hondas.

Numbers are numbers Paul
Hondas are a little more complicated than our ford PCMs....I dont think it would take them long to figure it out. Hell the PCM was probably made in CHINA....just sayin

Re: whos in the dyno know?
Numbers are numbers ... how one interprets them is what counts. I'd rather go to somebody that know my make and model and be able to interpret and offer suggestion to improve. Plus Greg is a righteous Dude. Just saying.

Re: whos in the dyno know?
who's greg wheres he located and whats the company name? i might be able to forgo datalogging, but a/f is an absolute must. i want to be ablsolutly sure my new tunes running right. if they can make minut adjustments then i'm all in. right now it pulls pretty hard but i think alittle more can still be done.
anybody knwo what this would cost? just a/f or a/f and datalogging

Haha! Nice. Hey Jared I would also recommend Greg. My brother and I installed cams in his car and we are going to try and make it up to Greg's shop this week to fine tune it.

Re: whos in the dyno know?
I went to humble because dynojets are suppose to be more accurate. I can't remember but if you got the vmp tune you should use a dynojet cause Justin at vmp likes for you to send him the dyno run file on dynojet to see if he needs to make adjustments in the tune. I sent him my dyno run file and he thought it was a tad rich, so he sent me a whole new tune to make some more power. I probably should pick up another 10-15rwhp with this tune. Here is some info from Justin on dynos I read the other day.
Some people make power by tuning cars, others by tuning dynos.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, as the saying goes.
That graph is from an old dyno-dynamics dyno running DOS based software. There are many dynos out there that can be compensated and adjusted in various ways, basically the operator can make the dyno read whatever they want it to read. This is another reason I use a dynojet dyno, it is one of the few that can't be majorly fudged, you can figure this guys dyno was off by 10-15% as this car should only make 525-550rwhp in most conditions, maybe 560rwhp in the best of conditions.

That is the problem with many off brand dynos, many are notorious for reading low, so the operators/shops try to adjust them to read normal, but where do they stop? so keep going and make them read high.
Dynojet's software is locked down so no one can fudge with the HP/TQ calculation by changing roller mass, and the run conditions and correction factors are printed on the dyno sheet so you know exactly what is going on (IE if it was 30* out and barometric pressure was 31inHG then you know why the car made a ton of power).
I am not gonna tell you to take here or there, I just wanted to go to whoever had the dynojet which happened to be humble. If Greg or Kurtis had a dynojet I would of gone there. Hell it actually went pretty good at humble, those guys where pretty cool and basically they just ran the computer, I told them when I was ready and I ran the car during the dyno.

Re: whos in the dyno know?
Jared, go to Greg... David likes sucking on Justins "stick shift"! [BTW David, I will be making my new video today, so be ready for it!]
The only problems I see with Davids statement are:
Justin @ VMP is the shit, not arguing that point... but he is in Florida, the air is a bit different down there than it is here, something can get lost in translation from here to there.... and of course he is going to praise Dyno Jet... thats what he uses!
David, according to the repost of Justins comment... the dyno was off 10% -15%?!? Off of what? there will be atleast a 15% lost thru drive train from flywheel to rear tires.
And of course Humble..... those poor little pissed off weed eaters! Hahaha, I enjoy racing them... I win some, I lose some... but doesn't it seem like all the drivers look the same? or atleast dress the same way?!?

Re: whos in the dyno know?
I ain't sucking on no one, I am just stating the facts you dork. There are many tuners everywhere but I am going to trust mine with someone who has done a ton a gt500's. The two tuners who do the most gt500's are jon lund and justin starkey. Florida or not, my mail order tune was almost spot on and made good power. My air/fuel ratio was around 11.2 range which is almost perfect, but he sent me a new tune without even asking him to do it. I was perfectly happy with my results!
BTW the quotes I was refering to from Justin was in regard to a gt500 with the same mods that have that said it has 597rwhp and 610rwtq on a dynmaic dyno. The most I have ever seen with cold air, 2.6 pulley and tune have been in the high 560rwhp range. So that is what he was refering to about the dyno and not reading accurate.

Re: whos in the dyno know?
i've already contacted greg. at some point in the future i'll throw my car on a dyno jet. for now i just want my a/f check to make sure its tuned in right. i dont want to blow engine guts out the pipes halfway to okc one day.
EDIT: besides i think justins coming to the midamerica shelby meet with the mobile jet(i really pray he is that would be AWESOME!) its all good. natalia will get on a dyno jet eventually

Re: whos in the dyno know?
I don't think he is coming to mid america, I asked him yesterday and said he was going to make a trip to Houston soon. He did say if you could round up 6 people who want a dyno tune he would fly anywhere to do that if you could arrange a place from him to use a dynojet.

I got $5 also for this, but they will probably fudge the dyno to get that number, I want to see dynojet #'s! I also will bet $5 you won't break in the 12's, gonna have some good video material coming up.
