I still dont understand the mile per hour on Dien's and Blair's. Even though traction was an issue the mile per hour still should have been close to what it should be.

Maybe if I finish in 3rd instead of shifting to 4th? I'll set my RPM alarm before next time and we'll see. 108.15?

If I am quick out of the hole with traction, I will be at Redline before i get to the traps. I have to shift to 4. You are running a much lower gear, Im betting that you could run it in third, but you would have to look the next time and see. If you hit the rev limiter you have gone too far,

Re: SAT 28FEB - Drag Strip
Well, I'm not sure about all Mustangs, but the Shelby has an alarm (both sound and visual) that you can set at any rpm you want. I need to set mine at about 5,700 rpm. It is currently deactivated. That should help tremendously.

Re: SAT 28FEB - Drag Strip
Is there a reason your shifting at 5700 Rpms? just curious...dont know too much about the 5.4. But I would think you could push it to 6k in every gear and not have a problem

Re: SAT 28FEB - Drag Strip
You need to be shifting at or a little past redline.... What the hell blair. You lost over a 1,000rpms short shifing the bitch. Oh and you should be able to ride that thing out in third.

Re: SAT 28FEB - Drag Strip
Steve, did you ever figure out the poping??
Track did suck. It was OK while the sun was out, but once the clouds came over it cooled down and got slick. My best run was my first one, we should have stopped there.

Re: SAT 28FEB - Drag Strip
yeah that was the best cut a shitty 1.789 60' on it,, was cutting 1.61s on the 11.2 pass,, watched the video last night a few times, the popping was just fuel buildup in the headers/exhaust saw one vid got a nice spark/flame out the exhaust on launch,
the other ones just a nice puff of smoke
this winter just swapped to strang adjs and airbags in the rear coils, need to adjust them,, on the front was running loosest settng on the back running 50/50 with 13#s in the airbag, made the car come up in the front fast and then it bounced back and make it come down way too fast, will be easy to dial in 10s later this month esp when i was cutting 1.51 60's all last year

Re: SAT 28FEB - Drag Strip
yeah i like it, last pass made my back hurt from launch :(
just gotta fine tune the suspension, swapping brakes this week i think, skinnies,,, will make the front raise up a lil bit,, in the vids the launch carried the front wheels for a split second b/c of the bounce it brought them back down fast too
oh well not bad for a crapp 1.789 60' haha
was a rush at 131 in the 1/4mile

Re: SAT 28FEB - Drag Strip
I bet with the skinnies, front suspension/brakes, that thing will be more aggressive off the line...lifting tires most definitely.

Re: SAT 28FEB - Drag Strip
haha i dont!
if i wanted to make the car really go i would strap in an auto and lose the vert but a 5speed soon to bo 10sec street car is fun,,
next year will not have any problem with high 9s with more boost/fuel
then year after swapping to a stripped down coupe lots and lots of boost maybe 8s

Not wanting to shift at 5700, I just want an early warning that 6000 is around the corner.
And yes, it will be 3rd in the end.
Look out 12's, here I come!
