Another OKC Pony
Greetings,
Added to your number is yet another "old guy" (EMHS class of '81, OSU '86) and from N. OKC to boot.
I've owned a mustang of some form since 1978. My first car was a Millionth Mustang sales promotional '66 vert. It was midnight blue with blue interior and white top. We were the second owner Owned the car for 30 years.
I've also had a '65 fastback (during college) and a '66 "Trans-Am" type coupe resto-mod.
Sold the vert & the coupe in '06 to buy the Grabber Orange GT500. I had always dreamed of racing mustangs and bought this one to do just that. So after an initial shakedown at Hallett, I made my list of necessary improvements. She currently has the Griggs GR40RT rear suspension with a TruTrac diff & 3.73 gears; Steeda front coilovers, bump-steer & lowering kits; some brake upgrades; C&L cai, VMP 2.65" pulley & tune with a PSE ported OE blower. Inside it has a 4-pt roll bar, Corbeau seats & 5-pt harnesses.
This winter my goal is to install the Griggs SLA on the front. But the "tax man" is going to have to work with me on that one.
Here are some pic's

I spend a good deal of time up at Hallett and the family always makes it to the Mid America Meet, so I hope to meet some of you there. I recognize the screen names of a few members here from Team Shelby.

Hey Jeff glad you made it over! The Shelby meet is out flagship event every year. I'm sure we saw you last year. Love the car and the fact that you race it. Looks great. How did the rear end suspension upgrades improve things over stock? I bet it helped a bunch.

HOLY HELL that is one amazing machine.....Glad you made it over here Jeff! We are a great bunch....have a lot of sacrastic humor about us...but also respect each other. I think you'll fit in just fine.. also have about 4 other GT500 owners here and a few that are definitely interested in Hallett. Again thanks for stopping in, kick your shoes off and enjoy your stay!
Oh and thanks for now making my car look like shit......

You will find that Grabber Orange isnt the best color around here
It promotes Jealousy and envy....which intern makes others throw out the "yellow school bus" analogies.
Hell they named my car the "flying cheeto"

Beautiful ride. Nice to have another Shelby in the bunch, and I'm sure Jarrod is ecstatic that there is another Grabber Orange to help his cause. Hope to see you on here, and meet up with you and your family.

Ed knows his stuff. He has done all of my mods and is my unofficial "sponsor" for my track addiction
Is the other member "Bob" by any chance? Tricked out red GT with the "spoiler delete" and too many mods to count? We know each other, haven't heard from him in a while though.

I suck at the 1320'
Only done it 3 times and none since the car has been significantly modded. My best run was a 12.88 at Tulsa back in '07
The suspension is not set up for a good launching weight transfer though. Everything about weight transfer in road racing is opposite; you want to make the transfer as invisible as possible while not upsetting the car.

Re: Another OKC Pony
Paul,
Yes I live for the twisties, and Hallett is one of the best places in the country to do it. We're truly spoiled having them so close.
In your 3rd video at 33 seconds, there is a still pic of Jarrod's car. In the background on the track, I'm taking a corner in mine (think it's a right hander?) I think it's corner #4.
Here's a video of last October's HST from my in-car camera.........

WOW I remember seeing you last year at hallet and hearing that supercharger whine wherever you went
Awesome video as well.....love the in-car views of road racing...and hearing that supercharger is like listening to your favorite song over and over and it never getting old.
Hallett will definitely be a great time this year for the shelby show with so many new members and a lot of them interested in doing hallett this year. Would love to have some pointers and learn proper technique.
