Concealed Gun Class
Taking my concealed gun class this Saturday and was wanting to get the forums feedback. I have been meaning to do this for a while and thought it was a worth while class to take. I might even go out and buy a Military SW .45 that I use to carry for old time sakes. I don't have the lifestyle where carrying a gun is needed it would be more for when someones else's lifestyle falls on me.

Re: Concealed Gun Class
Sounds like a great idea. I have always wanted to do it, but have not been able to get around to it.

Re: Concealed Gun Class
I highly recommend taking the class and getting an Oklahoma concealed carry permit. Class is easy, and once you get the permit you never have to take the class or requalify again - just send in renewal $$ every four years. I also recommend taking the class and qualifying with a semi-auto pistol - then you're qualified to carry a revolver or derringer under your concealed carry permit. If you take the class using a derringer, that's all you can carry concealed; if you take it using a revolver, you can carry only revolver or derringer. (At least that's the way the law used to read, if they haven't changed it.)

Re: Concealed Gun Class
That is what bold moves can do as a club. We can all take the classes and carry weapons at the car shows. We would all WIN. lol
Just kidding. I have always wanted to do that was well but never have. What is the price and how long are the classes?

$100.00 fee payable to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations (O.S.B.I) in the form of Money Order or charge to your Credit or Debit Card.

Might have a little trouble concealing it, especially if you have the 10" barrel....

What is concidered OK? Any pistol? Is it "whatever you take to class is the only thing you can carry"? Or you can have any pistol as long as it is your name and you have a licence. If you can only carry what you have been certified in, do you have to take the class again if you change guns or just register the gun with them?

Re: Concealed Gun Class
You can carry any pistol. It's been about 6 months since I reead the literature, but I think there is some verbage about revolvers and automatics. For sure, if you take the class with an automatic, you can carry a revolver. The other way around.... I would have to read up on it again....

Re: Concealed Gun Class
What kind of automatics are we talking about. You cant carry an m-16 or an m-4 in your pants if you know what i mean and I i still believe the OOZY is banned.

Re: Concealed Gun Class
Well I finished the class and it is all common sense. It never hurts to reconfirm when deadly force is legal but for the most part it was what was expected. You guys would be shocked at the type of people that are obtaining these licenses. I felt really good about my decision after seeing my classmates. There was one guy I know will be in a road rage shooting any day now. He had a Dually truck with the word MOVE on his bumper in reverse lettering so you could see it in your mirror.

Re: Concealed Gun Class
Hahaha.... I have had my cc license for the last 2 years. I carry a Springfield Armory XD .45 ACP. I think I will buy a newer version this year, maybe a .40 ... I would love to buy the DE .50 cal [Hand Cannon] and put the .44 barrel on it.... You can't carry [legally] anything larger than a .45 .
I took the class at Tulsa Firearms.... I was kinda pissed when I found out that I didn't have to take the class, since I qualified on the M9 last time I had went to the range.... Something about Military something or another....

Re: Concealed Gun Class
Thats funny about the class mates being a bit scary looking. It was the same way when I took my class ten years ago. LOL I remember thinking to myself "seriously, these people are going to be carrying a gun?" I also remember the crazy stupid questions that these same people would ask during the law portion of the class. Then I remember when we qualified on the range and thinking to myself that some of the people couldn't even hit a target that was like 10 feet away with any sort of accuracy. It was crazy.
