F*%K SHELBYS HOOD PINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so i bought new hood pins like my old ones that were on my first sgt. i was in the process of installing them when i shit a horrifying discovery! the G#D D@#M brackets were too M$(ERF&$KING LONG!!!!!!!!!!! theyr suppose to be identical to the ones on the car already. upon closer inspection i discovered they were identical....except for one small problem the ones in the car had been modified at the factory!!!!!!!!!!!
they had a joggle in them to shorten their overall length by more then 1/8th of an inch! the new ones didnt have this joggle and consequently refused to line up with the holes already drilled in my hood. so i got creative. i took the old pins off the old brackets and put the new ones on in their place...... it worked PERFECTLY! till i tryed to open the hood and discoved the pins had actualy slid in just right to bind with the framework supporting the hood skin......i had to lift with my legs to finaly get the pins unbound(after the proper application of oil of course) frustrated i removed the new pins and put the old ones back on. i have the new ones in a bag in my car, i'll takle the project later. i had a date(which i subsequently missed because of these damn things!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
did i mention it took me 2 hours to get those brackets lined up with the new protectors
only to discover they didnt want to fit due to the angle....
just a heads up to any one who wanted to put new pins in. they require modifications if you already have pre-existing pins
ps i f&^king hate these brackets
excuse im going to recover my honor out back by taking my life with a sword
