yeah the short belt helps alot, a couple of us are using it already.

what kind of drop on the 1/4 are you all getting in the 3valves

Not sure of the gains but I'm sure its worth a few HP. Can't hurt. I've been using one since I started taking mine to the track after mods.

next season you should do your first couple runs a couple track days with your p/s hooked up then switch the belt to actually find out just how much that thing is taking from you. just wondering what kind of time that $30 is getting people.

in the 1/8th that guy said he dropped from his best of a 8.41 to an immediate 8.19

Dont know...never really cared to run the car without it to test the ET results....Id just rather throw it on and not worry about how much it imporves. Its just one more thing holding the car back without it.

I am running high 12s at 108.16 MPHish if that helps

My car went from 13.5 @ 103 to 12.3 @ 110 The belt helped along with the mods in my sig.

Didn't do poo for me... gave my short belt to Jerbear. Stress (drag) on your PS pump takes place until you turn. last I ran... all drags were ran in a straight line. .. Soooo... the benefits (IMO) are min at best.

Yes but its 6'' less that the assessories have to rotate. There for I can spin the motor up quicker.......

jarrod i believe u r correct even ounces off of the turning weight of the crank r very important. i.e ppl spend thousands of dollars just to take a few ounces off of the crank

I have a power steering pump in my garage off a factory 5.0L GT. I also have a steering rack still hooked to the front K member and Tie rod ends. we can set it on jack stands, bolt some tires to it and put them on the ground for a little resistance and filler all up with fluid and let someone try to turn the pump over. This will tell you how much resistance that pump puts on an engine going strait. It is still a hydrolic pump and keeps a static amount of hydrolic pressure in the power steering rack in order for it to function properly. The faster you spin it the more resistance you get whether it is turning or not. I am going to take a look at my front belts and see if the 99-04 cars are able to be short belted fairly easily. There has to be a way. I have done it on most of my other cars in one way or another. Let the rigging commence.. lol..

Ok.. I looked at my belt routing and I believe I can do it. If I can find a way to mount an idler on the drivers side I can bypass the power steering and A/C. The A/C is simple to bypass on these cars but the power steering isnt goin gto be. Here is what I came up with.
