Is this worth it?
Hey guys, so for those of you who saw my car at the track, you probably know I was having some idler pulley problems. Well, I have it temporarily fixed with a cheap idler from Autozone, and wow, now she's whisper quiet. The UPS man just delivered the direct Kenne Bell replacement (free), and I'm not sure I want to put it back on there. I'm not to keen on this design, I think the basic idler is a better, more simple design. During all of that, I ordered two new idlers to replace the other two idlers (confused yet? lol) These are really nice and pretty. They're the billet ones from Steeda. So now I want a nice looking billet idler to match these ones. The one in question is a much smaller than normal (2.5" in diameter) so the only one I could find that would do the job is this billet one from March performance. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=MCH%2D740&N=700+311368+115&autoview=sku Question is....do you think its worth it to shell out $70 on this thing? What do you guys know about March pullies? Will it last longer? Is it a better bearing? Is it overpriced? Are there other alternatives that are cheaper but look similar? Thanks for any input.

March pulley's are tried and true. Good parts. But expensive. I say, stick with what you got or replace it with the free replacement from KB.
I knew the noise wasn't the blower itself... if it was, it would have blown up! ;)

Matt, I got a Whipple installed on Nov 17th and I have the same sorrows. I wish I could hear more whine and less exhaust. I dynomatted the interior and that helped but I know what you mean, I wish it would scream.

Like Paul said...March pulliers are nice...But dang expensive! I say stick with KBs Free pulley. It might be quieter now....but the sound before was not so inviting hehe.....bet it sounds nice when you get on it though
