soooo, im gonna be changing the brakes pads on my car for the first time since ive had it and just want to know whats in store. do you have to turn your caliper piston to get it to go down or can you just compress it?

On the rear... yes. Front no. The front can just be compressed.

The rear you can rent a tool from your part store. Or I use the head of a screwdriver and GENTLY tap it around.

I did this when I painted my calipers. He told me the same thing and it worked perfect. Its pretty easy to do.

Paul, Is the the box tool. Does it look like a cube and fits right on the piston?

Dont use the box cube...the rear piston needs to be compressed and turned at the same time...the tool is at autozone or oriellys...it locks on...compresses as it turns. easy peezy
