tint scratch?
I just got my new tint installed. On my previous tint that was on the car since i got it had scratches all over it. I have heard you have to take something out of the door panel to keep it from happening again. Let me know cuz i def dont want scratches on my new tint.

Re: tint scratch?
When I got mine done, they put some sort of special felt in there to prevent it, I really don't know exactly what they did though

Re: tint scratch?
The Moleskin goes in the inside channel over the rubber strip. THe rubber is what is scratching the window tint. The moleskin is similar to felt and makes a smooth surface for the tinted window to glide against when going up and down in the window opening. Do a google search you'll find more info.

Re: tint scratch?
the factory 08 mustangs have felt on the inside channel like the old cars used to have on them, the 05-07 mustangs inside window channel is just rubber.

Re: tint scratch?
Yep shame on Ford there. They should have known that it would scratch. No worries. Its easy to put on.

If anyone wants to see an example of what could happen to their window then look at justins...good lord!

Re: tint scratch?
yeah but if your still going for the factory look or just don't want to worry about the felt strips falling off than you can get the ones for a 08 model year and be ok

Re: tint scratch?
Jarrod where did you order your moleskin from?
You might call some tint shops to see if they sell it local. You might get lucky.

Re: tint scratch?
Got the moleskin installed yesterday with Jerry and Jarrod's help. I think I caught the scratches just in time. Works good

Re: tint scratch?
Yeah, this is a pretty simple install. If you are somewhat tech savvy and can read, this is about a 30 minute job start to finish. If you have a jerbear involved, add 15 minutes for technical difficulties and misplaced sockets, nuts, screwdrivers, bit tips, covers, parts, and knives.
