Equilizers are confusing! Empty Equilizers are confusing!

Post by Guest 11/10/2008, 8:08 pm

Im trying to get the perfect sound out of my system, but having difficulty tuning it. I just dont understand all of the perameters and adjustments. I mean I can play with it till it sounds ok, but dont really know what Im doing.

With my Pioneer AVIC D3 I have plenty of adjustability just need to find the right combination. Anyone have a stereo background?

Too much to go into (actually I'm too lazy to type all of it....) on here.

Start with making a lazy V and adjust from there. Left side is bass, middle is mid range and the right side is treble. Should like something like this...

you can do all the adjusting you want, but what it comes down to is what sounds good to you. Ideally you want to have all of the proper equipment first, Tweeters, mid range, and subwoofers, sending the proper frequency to all speakers. Then you need to make sure that all the speakers are in the proper locations. Wattage is one of your friends in this case, but you need to make sure the amps are putting out clean sound. This is just some of the basics and you can get a whole lot more in depth from here. And I am no expert, I just have a general idea of what to do and what to change and adjust.
