I spoke to soon about the car!!! Empty I spoke to soon about the car!!!

Post by Guest 10/9/2008, 7:55 pm

Drove the car yesterday and was watching the gas mileage and it seemed to be about a mile per gallon or two off of what it usually is and it felt a little heavy when getting up to speed. It also was slowing down quicker coasting(engine breaking) and letting the engine slow me down to come to a stop and I felt a little hesitation in the throttle taking off through the gears so i reinstalled my tune last night just to see if that fix's it. Today i desided to open her up and see what kind of gremlins i get and sure enough it hesitated hard and bucked on me then when up in the rpms ok but still felt like the horses were not there. Then letting it coast(engine breaking)down the tone of the car changed from smooth to the low bogging sound just slightly. You know that sound, that deep rumbling sound. Its not like before with the bad gas, its a whole lot better but it just does not feel right. At first i thought is was all in my head but i dont think so. I called the service guy and left a message so I will talk to him tomorrow.

By the way the service tech said that my part numbers were different then Jarrods 2007 and I thought that was odd.

I assume they put a new fuel filter on the car? If not there is water trapped in it. I have seen that happen on trucks that sit for long periods of time and they act kind of like what you are describing.. They seem fine sometime and then just when you need them they start hesitating and acting up.. Just a thought..

That sucks. I think both David's and Brent's guesses could be correct. Sounds logical.

Did you check the blinker fluid?

I took the car in this morning. Told Zack what was going on and told him that if you dont drive the car every day you may not notice the change but hopefully they know what there looking for. Zack said he has a 2008 mustang gt grey or silver fr500 wheels with a black trim around the wheels. He said he would drive it as well wo we will see.

Post by Guest 10/10/2008, 12:01 pm

Alright, i just got off the phone with Zack and he said that the computer showed everything is ok. Fuel trims were fine. He also said that he drove the car and the service manager drove the car and the shop tech or supervisor drove the car and all said everything is fine so maybe its in my head. But that still doesnt expain the 2mpg loss on highway and city and doesnt explain the bucking when i got all over it in first a couple of times yesterday. I WOT it about 5 times and it bucked twice.

I asked Zac if they did anything with my computer such as updates and he said NO. He said they did reset my cams and they would have to relearn and the whole car would have to relearn.

Dont know what to do but take the car and keep driving it and see if something blows up.

Also could if be the tune? Would it be a good idea to just get a brenspeed tune just to make sure. I know all of you were saying that the car needs a new one considering the mods and the MPH not reflecting them.
