Spool...Don't want it.
My car currently has a spool in it. I wouldn't have put this in there myself but it came in the car from the previous owner so I wasn't given a choice. I do not run my car at the track often enough to justify having it. Most of my driving is weekend cruising on the streets and if anyone has ever driven a spooled car on the streets you know it is damn anoying and dangerous to boot. Here is my problem...I have 35 spline axles and am having trouble finding a more street friendly alternative in that configuration. I would really like to keep the axles currently in it as they are stronger and paid for but I may have no choice but to change them out for 31 spline axles. Does anyone know of anything out there in a 35 spline that will release when turning? If so please post up a link.

I found this link to a forum about the axles.
" i think think mark williams and moser are the only ones.... "

I guess checking out the Moser and Mark William web sights will be a good start.

Re: Spool...Don't want it.
Hmmm.... I think I will just build a different 8.8, luckily I have a spare in the garage I picked up a few months ago.
Any thoughts on this... http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/LRS-4204SDK-A/79-93-Mustang-88-31-Spline-Severe-Duty-Rear-Axle-Kit-5-Lug
My only concern is the axles dont have the manufacturers name. Whats up with that?

Re: Spool...Don't want it.
I like the set up. I think it might just be for 5 lug drum set up looking. Didn't say disk or drums. I think 94 and up went with longer axles for the disk brake set up. Don't quote me on that.I just think, not sure.
If I have the cash I buy it but my butt is cheap and try to find a used set up of keep looking for something cheaper. That's just me. hell I don't even own a mustang anymore.
