MY 2 CENTS

I BECAME A MEMBER OF THIS CLUB BECAUSE I AM A DEVOTED CAR GUY AND LOVED ALL THE TECH ADVICE. I LIKE TO HAVE AS MUCH FUN AS THE NEXT GUY, BUT I THINK SOME OF THE POST NEED TO BE CONFINED TO THE SALOON (I THOUGHT THAT IS WHAT IS WAS THERE FOR). REMEMBER ANYBODY CAN VIEW THIS SITE. THIS SEEMS MORE LIKE MY SPACE THAN BMMC. JUST MY 2 CENTS NO HARM NO FOUL,JUST WISH THE POSTS WOULD STAY ON TRACK.

I really thought the general chat area was for off topic subjects and tech advise goes with the tech area... if i'm wrong let me know... or if I have offended anybody on here with my posts let me know... and i'll ask admin to delete them

Chris has a point. I've seen many threads get whoafully off topic and some converstions edged on the "really needs to be in the saloon" catogory.

Try to keep it on topic. I'm not declaring marshal law by any means, but if it gets a little crazy, I'll call it out.

We're all adults... well most of us anyways, so use common sense. I create a section in the saloon for chatter.

I don't think anything has been said too terriably wrong. I just think it's having to read through 15 pages of chatter to get to the meat of the subject because it get so far off topic.

The General area is pretty open. However, this happens all over the forum.

No problem Chris, I understand where your coming from...some of the Tech stuff does go off topic..BUT in the general chat area..its free game..Any Topic...NO MATTER how wacky can be discussed. BUT if it gets a little dicey on the content...it does need to be moved into the saloon. (For Example the TNT Thread) That one (in my opinion) had content for the saloon. The Performance and Tech is for Technical information and such and should remain that.

ON A SIDE NOTE!! But where have you been buddy...havent heard hide nor hair of you until this post? Everything alright? Been wondering what you've been up to. Hows the car? Any updates? Did you ever get the Hot Rod cams?

I agree....There have been a couple of threads that should have been in the Saloon after about the 3rd post. I think a couple of us thought you were referring to the OSU OU smack talk...and the other non tech threads.....Now that we know it was the "Other" kind of talk I think we can keep that stuff in the Saloon from now on.

Your not causing problems at all....just reminding us that this forum is Public...and sometimes we all need a little reminding...Even Paul hehe

Just my .02 as well. Most sites I have been a part of the General Chat, Lounge, Cafe, or whatever you want to call it is by definition "Off Topic". Now on this site so far I have seen a lot of posts get way off topic in other areas which shouldnt be happening but for the most part unless pornography or very vulgar items are posted to me the General Chat is the place to post that and the Saloon would be the place for the Porno. That is just normal forum structure to me and I have been doing this for a very long time.

I think Chris is referring to the very vivid XXX coments that have been made in the TNT thread and a few others...and we all know where that thread went (insert picture of Gutter). I dont think hes talking about the General Chat section at all. He has a young daughter that recently took possesion of an S197 and does visit this site. I think he was just reminding all of us to keep the XXX stuff in the saloon....everything else is fine

Gotcha... off topic in general chat only.... when describing what jerbear looks like do it in the saloon.... leave the tech area for tech questions and ideas and try not to highjack threads.....

It does get off subject in the general chat sometimes. I will keep the jerbear in the saloon but i dont know for how long. opps see i did it again.

Chris has made a good point and we need to keep it "clean" . I know I have probably contributed a little to the off color comments, so I take a step to try and improve, for the good of the forum.

Thank you for bringing this up, Chris - I'd been noticing the same thing on these forums myself. Although I'm personally not offended by such talk, I would be embarrassed (for the club I belong to and talk fondly of) for my wife and/or kids to see some of the postings of late. Although my son and daughter are both adults now I still wouldn't want them to see some of the recent posts, as even though I didn't directly partcipate in those I'm still guilty by association (by belonging to the club that hosts those threads). I couldn't care less what goes on in The Saloon, as that's a restricted, admission-by-request area only - and although I choose to not have access to that area, I'll vigorously defend the rights of the club to host it and those of anyone who wants to go in there. (That whole First Amendment freedom-of-speech thing, you know. )

And I realize the general mood now appears to be to keep the open forums a little more presentable to the general public. I didn't mean to chastize anyone; I'm just giving props to those who brought this subject up and who agree to police the comments a little better. Thanks to all!

If anyone takes offense to any material please PM me Paul or jarrod and we will remove the material from public view.......Don't feel like you can't speak up....I don't read every thread on every subject for obvious reasons so I don't catch them all........Let me know if I can get in front of anything guys and gals.

I think I've said my piece but, just to be clear... Please keep the naughty stuff in the saloon. This club runs on sponsors and is public in nature. While I'm no angel myself (lord knows). I am concerned about the image of the club. It's full of great and fun people and that's the image I'd rather project and it only takes one thread to ruin that. I want to keep it positive.

We created the saloon for a reason.

Since we are airing our 2 cents, I really dont think you mind that females are on here PauliePoo, however just curious if the real deal is that some men cant stand if women have invaded their man club.

Not at all. It's not a man club. It's a Mustang Club. The Forum is open to all as long as people keep it cool.

To be an actual member of the BMMC club, you got own a Mustang and pay your dues.

Membership has it's privileges.

So I need to pay to be on here? Dont let the brown hair confuse you, I feeling quite clueless, hehe

The forum is open to all mustang owners........To get a club shirt and actually pe a part of the club....attending events and getting some of the perks like bashing Jarrod all members pay a one time fee of $20. It's not much just helps the club pay for the shirts and events from time to time. Don't feel like you have to pay for anything to be on the forum......Just normal car club stuff.
