Tires
I currently have BFGoodrich GEFORCE KDW2 tires. They are just "ok". I would say they don't grip quite as well as the stock F1 Supercar's, and don't corner as well either. But, they came with my new wheels.
I am thinking about changing tires (selling these) next Spring, and buying the new Michelin Pilot Super Sports, which replace the old PS2's. They are rated very high, seems that people are raving about them.
Since I now have a 10.5" rim in the rear, I will probably go with 315/35R20.
Going from the F1 285/35R20 down to KDW2 285/30R20, increased my fender "gap" by 0.6". Not what I want!
If I go with the Pilot Super Sports, they are actually a tad bit taller than my stocks by 0.4"...thus, the change from KDW2 to them would erase a full 1.0 INCH of wheel well space!
Not only that, but a 110 mm sidewall height will provide better launching capability overall I'm sure.
Currently with my KDW's, I have a 1.75" fender gap up front, and 2.50" gap in rear! Ouch! Upgrading to the 315's would bring me to 1.50" gap in rear...ah, nice! Then, I would not have to lower anything.
Also, I found a place called http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com/ That is quite a bit cheaper than TireRack.com.

Mines not a daily... Meaning it's not driven in the rain on purpose. Looking at these for the next tire purchase. Had Toyo T1R's and loved them.

Re: Tires
What is a safe distance to keep between your tire and wheel well?
If I upgrade to the MIchelin super sports, I will have about 1.5" gap. A lowering kit would really bring that down to within 1/2 inch of the tire....is that a safe enough distance for bumps?
Paul funny thing is, I can't find much reviews or comparison for those Toyo tires. To me, they look grippy but the Michelins just look like they would do better as an "all around" tire...you think?

Re: Tires
Ryan, I'd suggest that you attend an upcoming event with the club where you can look at some cars from the club with various tire and suspension combos to see what you like in person. You can only get so much info from reading. Sometimes seeing it is better.

Re: Tires
Ill be going back to nittos when I replace my f1s. My yellow Gt and I went to battle with tires. I went thru about 5 sets in the 3 years I had the car (long story) the last set I put on her were nittos. I was really impressed with them. I've always run them on my trucks but holy hell. First impression was going around a 90 degree turn onto the highway. I rolled the throttle in 2nd. Where it would have broke loose it held great. I pushed those tires pretty hard and were never let down.
As far as where to buy them. Check out discount tires. They have awesome customer service and claim they will beat anyone's price. Internet or otherwise

Re: Tires
Yes...OKC area club!
Hey today this little "ricer" came up to me acting like tough shit. He was actually pretty fast, of course he weighed 10 pounds. Anyway, I definitely pulled ahead of him pretty confidently. Can't wait to get a TVS though! I'm working on that guy in Texas. He said he is considering my offer of $3000 for the ported TVS + VMP Elbow (doesn't that make it almost exactly like a VMP?), pulley, idler, new belt, ceramic coated headers and x pipe with high flow cats. LOL. I hope he bites, that is a load!

The great thing about Michelin...well at least with Pilot Sport PS2's they have a large range of various sizes. I'm hoping they offer more options for 18inch wheels with the new Super Sports. I agree Michelins are probably a better all around tire. I'm happy with mine, but I don't drive the car a whole lot. If you don't mind paying more I'd go with the Michelins.

Re: Tires
Selling my KDW2 tires...gonna go with Michelins.
$875 shipped, or $800 local pickup! Great deal...check it out:
Going to change to a wider and higher profile tire, nothing wrong with these tires AT ALL.
For the 285's, Looks like they are $600 SHIPPED at TireRack brand new. Since mine are so new I will sell the pair for $475 SHIPPED, or local pickup.
I think I may also sell my two front tires. They are 255/35R20. They are literally BRAND NEW...just peeled stickers off them LAST WEEK!!!
Looks like those are $472.00 SHIPPED at TireRack.com. Like I said mine ARE literally brand new, like 50 miles on them. So not as much of a discount, but how about $400 shipped!
All four tires for $875 shipped. Great great deal for someone! Awesome looking tires! If you're gonna buy them anyway, buy these and save over $200 dollars.
PM me for more info. First come first serve. I take paypal or cash in person. Not responsible for any paypal fees (you must pay).
EDIT: Pics. Front tread first (new ones), the rear, invoice showing date of purchase!
