Bob, I'm in Colorado Springs
At the Doubletree near the Olympic thingy. Headed to the Garden of the Gods to stomp around a bit this morning.

Re: Bob, I'm in Colorado Springs
of course you are there. unfortunately i'm not even in the same country. have you been to garden of the gods before. it is so beautiful. make sure you walk through the middle and see everything.
a great day would be a nice drive up to cripple creek and then take the long scenic drive back going down south through Pueblo and then back up to the springs.

very cool! May have to go up there sometime, as I have never been to Colorado.
Re: Bob, I'm in Colorado Springs
Colorado is awesome. Skied all over that state. Beautiful state. It's on the short list...

Yeah, they had a big car show in the parking lot at Garden of the Gods yesterday. Was having coffee on my balcony this morning and say a Z06, Viper and a Lambo drag racing. Lots of hot rods and classics round too. Must have been a big car weekend.

I was afraid you were gone. Too bad, it would have been great to have a beer. I went under the Royal Gorge bridge this afternoon. Will probably do Cripple Ceek tomorrow. Not sure what I'll do for the return trip. Pueblo is kinda hot. I did that coming in and again today from Conon City. I want to play golf. There aren't that many courses here to my surprise. Any recomendations for golf?

Oh, and ran into an MG club at the GOTG today. MGA's TD's MG's. I would love to have an MGA in my stable. Good looking cars and a whole bunch of fun even if they are underpowered....

Bear Dance Golf Cousre is just north of you about 35 minutes, very nice golf course, but about $75 a round. Money well spent for the views.

Re: Bob, I'm in Colorado Springs
The Broadmour is in Colorado Springs, but wil probably be pricey, I have been buy it and it looks like a really nice course. Last year at one of the open they had there a bear come running out on the course.
From Dad: I would recommend a trip up to the mountains. You can be up there in an hour and a half and its well worth it. Keystone is running ads on TV and if you go there definitely play the river course, it’s nicer than Bear Dance the ranch course is so so. Breckenridge and Pole Creek are two others that I’m familiar with that are very nice. Also Fossil Trace in Golden I hear good things about but have never played.

Re: Bob, I'm in Colorado Springs
if you like beer definitely take a drive up to golden, co (denver) and go to the coors brewery. you would be amazed at how many different beers they actually brew other than coors. at the end you get 3 beers of your choice from their taps. these are full sized glasses also
sorry don't know any golf courses
if you came in through pueblo i'm guessing you cut across the pan handle instead of going up into kansas. that's the only way i really ever go because kansas is just so...............well boring kansas

Yes, the Beer tour is worth the trip if your in the area. Just go in the morning, if you go late in the afternoons, the machines aren't running and the tour is kind of boring and less impressive at that point.

Re: Bob, I'm in Colorado Springs
never knew about mt evans. i'll have to check it out when i get back next year. took the mustang up pikes peak and didn't know it wasn't paved all the way up. that was a slow drive to avoid dust and rocks in the non paved spots

Re: Bob, I'm in Colorado Springs
Guys.... Gals (Jarrod).... I'm all over a long road trip to Colorado... We would more than entertain the idea as a club event, I think it would be pretty FN fun. We got the cruise to Eureka Springs each fall and is good fun but I would be game for something more adventurous.

I've been hanging about an hour or so around CS. Played golf once. Gonna hang it up. Headed back to the heat Friday. *Sob*

It takes an extra hour to drive through the panhandle, but it is worth it. Kansas makes me want to slit my wrists....

Went to the Air Force Academy this morning, but had to turn around. They were searching cars and I don't think they would have appreciated the 45 I was carrying...

Re: Bob, I'm in Colorado Springs
^ HA that's a good one.
really a city/town is very similar to the others. they all have bars, clubs, ect. the basic stuff is usually there for entertainment, but colorado springs has an absolutely amazing view since the mountains are quite literally about 15-20 min away from where i live. which equals about 10 miles

You definitely should have gone up there. It's the ones that don't disclose they have a weapon that they are concerned about

Anything after about mid october and you have the chance of getting snow, especially in the mountains. this would make a great labor day weekend trip + a few extra days.
