Getting the Mach tuned Thursday!!
I'll be dropping my 03 Mach 1 off at Archangel Motorsports Thursday morning to have Kurtis tune it, so I thought I'd throw this up here to see who could guess what it'll make. Short list of mods but here ya go, cai, longtubes, o/r H pipe, glasspack catback(sounds like a farm truck some love it I hate it magnaflows are in it's future) 98 cobra intake cams, Nitrous express kit with gen 2 upgrade. I'm having him set me up with a chip so I'll have 3 tunes at the turn of a knob. Tune 1, NA. Tune 2, 100 shot. Tune 3, 175 shot.
So what are some guesses? He uses a dynapack Dyno so I'm not sure where it will be.
Before without the cams, longtubes or a tune it made 300/322 on a Dyno jet.
On a Dyno jet I hope to see.
330/340 NA
430/500 100 shot
500/580 175 shot.

Re: Getting the Mach tuned Thursday!!
well im not very happy with the numbers but here they are.
NA 316/320
100 shot 426/478
175 shot 486/539
all the HP numbers IMO are about 20-30 low and the TQ on the nitrous is kinda low also.

Re: Getting the Mach tuned Thursday!!
Thanks.
Im going to get it on Vangs dyno next week and see if the dynopack numbers are throwing me off or if something isnt right it should be in the 330hp/340tq range NA
I made 300/322 on Vangs before the longtubes, cams and tune.

Re: Getting the Mach tuned Thursday!!
Are you going to make any changes before going to Vangs? or are you just comparing dyno's?

Re: Getting the Mach tuned Thursday!!
Should see higher numbers on Vangs Dynojet possibly.
With my 07 GT I dyno'd 305 rwhp on Kurtis's and then popped over to Vangs and made 315rwhp
A loaded dyno will always show slightly lower numbers

I'm sure kurtis checked your AF if he tuned it for you. He has one if the best sensors in terms of accuracy.

Vangs only has a sniffer I believe and I would put 100% faith in it. Call kurtis and have him email your dyno again to include A/F.

Re: Getting the Mach tuned Thursday!!
the most accurate a/fs are pulled from the just before the collecter. i know my systems so large that muffler sniffers dont work great. when we tuned my car we had to put a bung in to pull a/f from.
i have MONSTER pipes.... going to be great for when i go built motor down the road

Re: Getting the Mach tuned Thursday!!
Yeah he used a wideband and has the info it's just not on the sheet he gave me. I have a bung welded in my h pipe for a wideband so I'll have vangs read from there those tailpipe sniffers always read lean.

Re: Getting the Mach tuned Thursday!!
Just an FYI, Kurtis runs an AFM 1000 Wideband. Which means the reading you got from his is probably the most accurate your going to get this side of the state.
Most smaller shops use sniffers (which you already know to be inaccurate) and the other half of the time they are using cheaper widebands with Bosch sensors, which again are not as reliable.
Would still have Kurtis email you your A/F readings so at the very least you can compare the A/F to Vangs to see how accurate their equipment is. Id be curious to know as well.
