Odd stalling issue with our 2010 GT
I've talked to Greg about this issue but wanted to see if anyone had any ideas.
2010 GT
Roush Extreme cat back exhaust
Shaker Hood plumbed into Steeda CAI
Underdrive pulleys
Tune by Greg
High RPM runs (spirited driving, not draggin'), push in on clutch and hit the brakes to slow down. Idle drops to around 500RPM, bounces up and down a few times and then the car stalls. I have the idle RPM and neutral RPM both set to almost 800RPM (in an effort to "fix" this temporarily).
Has anyone experienced this? Greg suggested we data log the car which I'll do when I have an opening in my copious spare time.
Thanks
Rob

Re: Odd stalling issue with our 2010 GT
Possible fix?
Edit: This is for the '11 but still worth a try. Check out my next post for the actual possible solution to the issue.

Might have a solution in this thread. Read through the pages and see if its what your experiencing. He finds a solution on page 4 and says this:
"Update to my update. The car is running fine now. After receiving the new tune, added it to the car again. This time, I added it, disconntected the battery and allowed the idle trim to be relearned by the computer. So far so good."Here is bamachips response to his update with info:
"Dashpot controls decel, however there's also spark for decel which is very important, and if that is wrong, all the dashpot in the world won't stop it from surging on coast down. Also, the idle ISC tables which are the idle air requirements have to be dialed in, or again, all the dashpot in the world wont solve it.
In Blacksmokes case, he's got plenty of dashpot and spark for decel, his problem is that his car is requiring alot more idle air than most due. This could be due to a dirty throttle body. Luckily, these are learned values, and just need to be dialed in as close as possible, and will learn to 0 from there."
Might pass that idea along to Greg and have him take a look at it.

Re: Odd stalling issue with our 2010 GT
Do the GTs have an idle control valve? Is it only doing it on decelleration?

Re: Odd stalling issue with our 2010 GT
I use google and other sites, gives you the same results and you dont have to wait for Jarrod 1.0 to search and then post them up...
Just kidding, its good to have this knowledge on here. Alot of forums people get mad and say to use the search function!

Re: Odd stalling issue with our 2010 GT
Where else are you going to get the info?...dont have a Ford Engineer on call, so have to improvise
Its sometimes just as easy as using a certain series of key words in a search...not only on a search engine, but in other forums.
I use key words in more prominent forums that have a lot of traffic to find results as well as my own issues with previous mustangs ive owned.
PS I know your just giving me crap and I quoted each and every forum link I got the info from...so I cited my work sir

Re: Odd stalling issue with our 2010 GT
Check your Air fliter and CAI. My 04 f-150 would do this on occasion and everytime it did, when I looked uder the hood, the air fliter was loose or hanging off. Sounds like the same thing mine was doing and since they are both 3v motors, might be they same symptom. If not, not sure what to tell you.
Let us know any results you might have.

Re: Odd stalling issue with our 2010 GT
this car has a shaker hood right? your problem is the shaker pushing too much air into the intake at coast down.....they have a shroud that usualy comes with the kit for a reason. this can be adjusted for in the tune.
had a problem like this pop up on the shelby forums not to long ago. disconnect the shaker tube and take it for a spin. it it doesnt do it then wallah.
has to be tuned for.
