Before and After Pics
I did something today that usually you dont want to do to your car: I sanded and painted the front bumper myself. However, due to the condition of the paint previously (and the rest of my car) and the cost of getting it professionally painted this was the easiest thing to do for the time being and I think it turned out pretty decent. I am not finished with it yet, I just got one coat on it today, it needs at least 1 more maybe two, but as you can see by the pics below it is already a big improvement. I also found it amusing that the generic Ford red color that I bought was almost a perfect match for my paint color. Worked out really nicely.

Re: Before and After Pics
It's getting there! Only thing I would've done different was to prime it, because it's going to take a lot to cover up those black spots...
but it's looking better! Just make sure to clear it when you are done...

Re: Before and After Pics
Looks better. Thats one good thing about your first cheap car, you can experiment on it. Definitely wouldn't want to try this with a brand new S500. I had a 77 f-150 that I tried to buff to a shine. Never happened, but i got to practice with different products and techniques until I found something that did work.

Yeah very true, its kinda fun to just try crap and then see if it works, if not you try something else.

Re: Before and After Pics
Well this morning I got out there and put a few more coats of paint on the bumper. Still havent clear coated it yet, but it looks hella better. The pics arent too good cause the sun was being annoying, but you can see how much it improved:
