Running rich..
Its nice to find a mustang site that’s close to home!! Im a newbie…so be easy on me!! Im having a issues with my 92 notch running rich…it was running just fine and I kept an eye on my wideband and over about a 3 day time period, it started running richer and richer. Now its to the point at 3K RPM, its pegged out on the WB at 10 and the motor cuts out. I thought maybe the O2 sensors went bad, so I put 2 new ones in and that didn’t help. MAF is clean. Can anyone point me in the right direction to go here?

Re: Running rich..
Welcome! Read your other post with engine specs, what kind of MAF are you running and how old is it? Have you checked fuel pressure?

Re: Running rich..
It’s a lightning 90mm MAF, I am unsure how old it is, I bought it used. It looks in great shape on inside and out, if that counts for anything! Yea, my fuel pressure gauge shows right at 38-40psi at idle, I have a adj fuel pressure regulator on it. The gauge is under the hood, kinda hard to see while driving…but I have a very willing friend I can stick under there to watch it while driving…LOL This problem is VERY frustrating to say the least. I suppose it is possible the MAF slowly went bad…?? When it cuts out at 3K RPM, I can push the pedal down and she GOES like normal…but keeps cutting out after I let off.

Re: Running rich..
Could be many things. From MAF, Fuel Pressure reg, even the IAC and TPS sensors. If one of those is shot it could be giving false readings to dump more fuel. Also could just be your wideband isn't reading accurately and you have an unrelated issue. Are you getting any smoke out the tail pipes? Unburnt fuel smell?
