All about marketing. Perceived value. It's like the recent car commercial stating they are selling cars at half off. It's a true statement, but what they don't say is they are used cars. A 1999 model "X" that sold new for $25K and is now $12,500 is in fact half off. Lol unfortunately most people just see the perception of value.

It is unfortunate that modern marketing has stooped to the point where most of the "deals" that you see going on you have to read the fine print to find out what the deal really is.
