Wheels for my Silver 01?
Starting to get desparate here, lol. No one is selling wheels locally right now, and my tires are balder than a baby's butt... got $400 to spend at the moment, on wheels and decent tires I can run for a while. Need to be at least 17s, 18s max...
What opinion would you have for what wheels I put on it? I like FR500s and Saleens, but everyone has them and I want to be different but not ricey...
what are some wheels you have seen on an SN95 that have caught your eye?
There is a guy on ModdedMustangs with some 18" American Racing Rebels for $350, but thinking he is just selling the wheels, no tires... tires seem to be there kicker...
Also loving the 2010 GT500 wheels, but can't afford the $1600 price tag... can get reproductions for $500 but then it's another $600-800 for tires... gah, what an expensive hobby...
If sales would pick up I wouldn't care about costs and would just go out and buy new, but that's isn't the case right now...

Re: Wheels for my Silver 01?
You are going to be hard pressed to find wheels and tires on your budget. BUT the weels I think that look killer on SN95s are the FR500s....anthrocite, chrome, etc look great.

$400 isn't going to get you the wheels you want AND tires with good amount of tread left.
I say wait and save up some money....

Re: Wheels for my Silver 01?
In the past few months I have found several sets I liked and wanted, things just didn't work out in me getting them...
Hardest part is finding the good tires with them... Since it seems most people are like me, and upgrade when their existing set is worn out, most sets being sold have atleast 2 if not all 4 tires bald...
just need to get more parts sales, and then price won't be an issue...

Re: Wheels for my Silver 01?
I just bought a set of rims for $100 with tires with about 65%+ tread left on them. The deals are out there you just have to be patient.

Re: Wheels for my Silver 01?
I just got stock rims from a 98gt so nothing super special, but still a steal for $100, and a lot sharper looking than my previous 3 spokes.

Re: Wheels for my Silver 01?
haha if you give me them for free, I can spend the $300 on a decent set of wheels... sounds good to me let me know tire size so I can buy suitable rims...
Re: Wheels for my Silver 01?
I wouldve let you borrow my stock GT's until you found some others. But a guy bought them for $250 like 2 weeks ago

Re: Wheels for my Silver 01?
Just a side note on this topic (related to the liking of FR500's that I like too). I emailed American Muscle. Black FR500's 18x9 come in at 30lbs and 18x10 come in 31.3lbs =
I want to get new wheels for Bettie, 18x9 and 18x10, but not at those weights (= plus tires would be an approx. 10lbs per corner gain over OEM 17x8 setup for me = hell no)
I am still trying to find an 18x9 and 18x10 staggered setup with black center and polished lip that don't weigh a ton for cheap. I can go the likes of Forgeline or Fikse or HRE and drop too much cash. And I cannot stand Steeda or the wheels Maximum Motorsports offer.
Still can't get Raceline to email me back with weights for their GT wheels.....
