Earthquake in Puerto Rico Empty Earthquake in Puerto Rico

Post by Papi 5/17/2010, 3:44 am

Well my parents woke me up this morning to tell me that Puerto Rico had an earthquake in the early morning on Sunday. It measured around 5.7 and was centered around 3 miles away from my parents in Moca, were they live. They are ok and so are my other family members out there in that area. There was no damage to the house at all. I'm just glad they they are ok and thing weren't worst for everyone on the island.

"The experts say that the epicenter of the earthquake was near the city
of Moca which is the north western end of the island. The depth of the
earthquake was measured to be 110 kilometers. The epicenter location is
six kilometers from a small Espino community and 101 kilometers from the
capital of Puerto Rico, San Juan. There are at the moment no reports
about any local Tsunamis doing any damage in any of the nearby islands."

Hector, I am so glad your family is okay, hopefully there will be little loss of life for other families. Thanks to God for protecting your parents and family.

The house is about 6 years old now and made of concrete. I do still have family that lives on the hill sides in wooden homes. Don't know about them.

Home in Puerto Rico.....

I want to make it bigger. Dad and my uncle and cousins already made the metal fences for the perimeter of the property. I want to extend the house back more and maybe a second floor. Its a dream or thought I had when I left home.
