just a lil FYI....

Dan Gutterman(sp) the owner of TRP owns a CTS-V...with a tune,smaller pulley,and DR's the car has been 11.2s....

that is a 4-door family car....

if the new Z28 is going to be lighter with same motor, the GT500 is going to get walked....

GM has always been ahead of ford on factory HP cars...but theyre to expensive is theyre downfall

i dont know the new gt500 is set up to be a potent machine, and i was talking factory here, not who's willing to throw the most money at their motor. the new gt500 should come in under 3800 pounds. i personaly thinkg the hp/weight ratio will favor the gt500 out of the box. modifications are a whole new deal though

where the hell is throwing money at the motor any different then a GT500 putting a smaller pulley and tune on to a camaro putting a smaller pulley and tune on the car???

another FYI, when i meant dan put a smaller pulley on his CTS-V, all he did is got a STOCK pulley off a ZR1 and put it on his car...

what makes you think the new GT500 is going to weigh dramiticaly less than what they are now...

i bet when they do a comparison the Z28 will handle the GT500...

The biggest problem with the GT500 is in the launch. It just spins. With sticky tires they'll shine. It will be interesting none the less. Competition improves the breed IMO.

Im not worried at all. you saw the new GT being the underdog, but still out performed the SS, and the SRT8, why be worried about the Z28 vs the new GT500???

Btw for those of you who didnt know, evolution performance got there 2011 GT to a 12.0 at 117 a couple days ago. now waiting for a better timeslip from this morning..

Right on. lol... I am not worried at all. We get the power to the wheels unlike chevy, we are lighter, and I am going to say stock for stock, the GT500 FTW!

smaller pulley on his CTS-V, all he did is got a STOCK pulley off a ZR1 and put it on his car

Which means he is not stock anymore...

Haha. Dude we all love muscle cars and fast cars. It doesn't matter the car. They all are legendary and have advantages. We are talking about the new camaro vs new gt500 and most of us are biased toward the gt500 because it has been tested and proven to be a badass. Chevy also said that the new camaro was going to be badass. It is sad when an almost stock mustang gt can outrun one even though it is about 100 or more horses behind. I don't believe a word Chevy says until an outside source does a dyno and road test on the exact numbers. I hope the best for them but I am just not a fan over priced cars that underperform for the money. My two cents.

Ummm... the new 2011 GT500 is going with an aluminum block and they have other weigh saving tricks. Thank God BTW! Much needed.

I'm a car nut. Yes I lean towards Ford products, but I really do think competition betters the bread. Quite frankly ... looking at some of the posted HP Figures and what some have been dynoing... Ford is underestimating their HP. Love that. Also, they are making the same HP with a lot smaller cubes. And getting better MPG. The new GT is rated at almost 30 hwy. With 412 hp... That's impressive.

I'm very impressed with Ford over the past couple years. They have met the challenge in the way America has done for years. With GM and now Fiat.... Errrrr Dodge... they took the buy out bucks and it's rather easy to compete when you have a blank check...

Props to Ford.
