Looks like this is going to be a bad storm. Southwest has already cancelled flights for tomorrow that are leaving after 8:15 a.m. Some schools are already closed. Please be careful in your travels and only travel if you must. I have 4x4 and a chain if anyone gets stuck, let me know.

Just listening to the news and reading some of my geek meteorology sites....

Some of the computer model are showing this could be worst than the storm of 2007. Wonderful. The track is moving a little further north, which means we'll be getting more ice that he snow. The good news is that it slowed down a bit so it will probably start early afternoon vs. waking up to it. The bad news... if it's slowing down it will take longer to move out.

I guess the weathermen really just guess anyway. Some were saying 1-3" of ice then the potential for upwards of 8" of snow on top of that. Now the models have changed again and it's being said we may get less ice than earlier predicted as well as less snow. All this tells me were screwed either way and most likely will get 3"+ of ice and a foot of snow too. That's just the way it is.

Is that the way of it?

It's my experience that if the weather guru on the local news says sun, it's gonna rain and if he says rain it'll be sunny. Now if they say little ice little snow we're probably going to be building igloos and running sled dogs the next several days. I'm just sayin......

I get to leave my car inside the shop doring this nasty crap. I get to take the service truck home and will be on call the entire time. It will be sweet If I don't get any calls to go back to work and free up the trucks. I already have a 100' extension cord to hook up to the generator/welder just encase the power goes out. string that bad boy all the way up to the second floor just to operate the microwave to heat up food.

Crap yeah! Hook up that Arch welder and heat up some dang microwave food. Thats what we did in 07....

I'm driving Shrek today and for the next few days. So glad I got my Geo Tracker 4x4 back before this hit, so the stang doesn't have to leave home. Last time it snowed, it was trapped in the carport, and I only had the ATV to ride to the store for four days. Not that I'm complaining . . . it was fun.

Anyone seen the Obama Chia Head? I NEED one for work, it's the must have desk accessory of the year.
