Wow! All aluminum, with cast iron sleeves, forged crank and peak power at 6500. I think my terminator is about to get terminated buy 5.0. Can't wait to see the numbers on the track.

Most of that has been speculated and it's cool that it's official! However, here's the key statement I like: "Inside the engine are a forged-steel full counterweight crankshaft and
four-bolt main bearings and high-performance pistons and connecting
rods."
Bring on the boost!

That's what I wanted to hear. Now where is that conformation of a factory supercharger option?........ If it has one you may see one in my garage soon. Lol

I was thinking the same thing. I guess for the non mustang enthusiast buyer it may not make as much difference, but for those of us ready to upgrade again it's a no brainer. Now if we could just talk them into changing that awful rear end life would be good.

Factory supercharger option? Not for me. I'd go aftermarket. And I'm a roots fan, so that means KB 2.8
Aweful rearend? What's so aweful bout the S197 rear end? You got 31 splines right? My SN95 came only with 28 splines. I had to upgrade to forged ones. Could have upgraded to 31's but didn't want to replace carrier as I won't ever put slicks on Bettie.

Re: Not sure if this has been posted on here yet
I believe Dave's talking about the aesthestics of the new rear end sheet metal - not the rear end drive components. Some of us like the look of the '05-'09 rear ends more than the modifications Ford made effective with the '10 models. Although, were I to get an '11 with the 5.0 liter Coyote engine I'd just leave both rear seats down so I could access the trunk space from inside and therefore never have to go around back and look at that mess.

Or you could do what I do and drive something faster so you don't have to look at the back end,

700+ isn't any good if you can't keep it on the ground.
