I wanted to try this and got off schedule. I couldn't even make the half right now. It is our goal next year to be ready for it and do it.

I finished the South lake Tahoe marathon but I didn't run it all. I had a stranger give me a P&J sandwich which saved me.

Going to have to learn to eat and run...heard thats the hardest part. Also your feet swell...so going to have to lube the toes.

Marathons are def no joke

Thats funny. I'm actually reading up now about what and when to eat during a marathon. It looks like people eat everything from pretzels to that GU crap or what ever it is called.

Yeah I would have NEVER packed that for myself. I made it to mile marker 21, coming down hill and felt like my legs were locking up. The first time in my life I actually felt the food I ate instantly resupply my energy level.

When we finished the race I thanked the lady and come to find out she was a swimsuit model. We actually got lost and was stranded over night in the mountains where we stripped naked to stay warm.

Ok, she was an old lady on a 15 minute mile pace but I don't like that version.

I remember this story from Alaska when I was up there. This guy collapsed just before the finish line and couldn't move. I remember the footage from the news. He had a blood blister so big he could not wear shoes.

Be careful and good luck.

His first stop on the way home was to stop and walk across the finish line. He definitely left it all out there.

If I do one, I am not going to try and win. Finishing it will be a big enough accomplishment for me.
