Re: one piece driveshaft installation
No. My slip joint is at the transmission side. Other than that the removal installation instructions are correct.

Re: one piece driveshaft installation
yes,but the install has the slip joint on the rear end.Anyway,i called serveral manufactures and it doesn't matter as long as there is no vibration.

Re: one piece driveshaft installation
So what does a Aluminum Drive shaft set you back these days? I can see doing this at 500.00 or less but $700 is a joke to me. What can the stock drive hold if you are not worried about the weight but the holding power under higher HP's?

Re: one piece driveshaft installation
Ya.. they're not a real good bargain... Most people get it purely for the weight savings/reduced rotational mass. I've never heard of anyone snapping a stock shaft. The GT500 has one ya know... so strength isn't an issue unless you have mega HP.

Re: one piece driveshaft installation
I havnt seen any GT500's dump the clutch at 4500 rpm with slicks and stock shaft. They should hold up preaty good if you dont run slicks. The aluminum frees up HP and reves quicker but have a price I think mine was around 500. I allso had one made at drive train specalties for like 400

Yeah their a bit on the pricey side. I got mine from another member at a fire sale price that was too good to pass on. Otherwise I doubt I would have bought one at regular price.
