Track times at test and tune tonight
Well made it to the track tonight, it was a good and bad night sort of. Jerry and Jrod even came out to play, well not jrod since he only has a fusion right now.
First run I had around 16lbs of air in the tire, left around 3000rpm's, car hooked right off the line but I matted it and started to spin, once I got past 1st gear it was smooth sail.
60ft ------ 2.009 pathetic
1/8 mile--- 7.896 at 97.5mph
1/4 mile--- 12.003 at 122.5mph
2nd run I lowered to 15lbs of air, left around the same rpms but I think I rode the clutch out of the hole this time, car hooked good, ran all the gears, went to hit 4th gear, got it in 4th but no one home, clutch toasted. Its party my fault cause I am too stubborn to by a line lock, so I think I fried the clutch heating the tires and having too much brake pressure on the rear tires, duh!
60ft------ 1.804
1/8 mile---7.483 at 99.5mph
1/4 mile--- 12.34 at 91.21mph, I hit 4th probably around 800-900ft and coasted the rest of the way, this one gonna be one heck of a pass. Just to compare, Barrett ran 11.4 at 119mph, his 1/8 mile time was 7.47 at 98mph. Oh well should of could of been, still happy cause I know the power is there, I just need a freaking line lock and new clutch again!
Oh, Jerry's car is like a bracket car, it runs like 12.3 at 113mph every pass it seems! Thanks for following my gimp stang home, it actually shifts pretty good when I get on it, but not so much normal driving.

Well tranny is ok, but the dual disc clutch is probably melted together, just figure I am gonna buy new aftermarket clutch flywheel and linelock and be done. Oh well it was fun as hell, I was only hoping for around 118-119mph, hell that last run was probably gonna be 123-124mph in the 1/4 IF I finished.

Re: Track times at test and tune tonight
Next time I go, I am asking if everything is working and if they are running both lanes. I was out there from 7:30- 10:30 and got 2 runs in. Everytime we go out there seems like something is broke. Alright rant over. It was an OK night first run didn't get shit for traction. They had the cone set up and had us running outside of the grove. Second one had me in the groove got so much traction it bogged the motor down. If i had the energy to stay another round I would probably have had the perfect mix. Oh well always next time.
David, Should we post the video of how not to do a burnout?
David Cox, my apologies. It was a last minute decision to head out there, but probably a good thing. They were only running one lane so not much racing to watch.

No problem, Jerry - I went to the range and shot yesterday afternoon and wound up cleaning and doing some smithing work on my Glocks. I love the smell of Hoppes No. 9 in the air.

Re: Track times at test and tune tonight
Very interesting. Im glad to finally get a report from the elusive white GT500 at the track. Get that thing fixed so we can get a good run. I want to see a 10 second run Dave!

Re: Track times at test and tune tonight
Its got a 10 in it in perfect conditions.
David...you blow at burnouts. When the right tire is spinning and the left isnt...clutch goes by by!!
The smoke under your hood...was not your burnout smoke.
Next time pull into fourth using both hands!!

bla bla Jarrod, hows your car btw? I figure new clutch, throttle body, ported blower will get me damn close to the 10's, not bad for a heavy pig!

Port that blower, get a good tune and drive the piss out of it and I'd be willing to bet it's a 10 second car!

yea poor steelers, my bet with Bill Knight is looking better and better every week. Steelers have to 11 out of the next 13 games for him to win his bet!
