Nitrous/Tune/Spark plugs.... ?question?
ok i have my zex kit, I just got my mail order tunes put on my tuner now all i have to do is get my Autolite HTO spark plugs installed and fill the bottle.
my question is the tune i order came with two tunes a all motor 93 tune and a nitrous 93 tune. Once i changed my plugs can I not run my daily 91 tune anymore? or will it be fine for daily driving?
The daily 91 tune is pre-plug change. What does running colder plugs do or what should i watch for in a daily application?

Getter Done becarefull on the plugs depending on your mileage you may have carbon build up on the plugs which will cause the plugs to break then you will need the special tool to remove the broken plug however if you break the plugs loose and then pour a carbon clean in the spark plug holes it will soak through to the carbon and soften it up so you can remove them.

You can still run the 93 tune with colder plugs it might help the 93 NA tune the spark plugs disapate heat at different rates when you go blown or NOS the cylinder temps will rise quickly the spark plug will not disapate the heat quick enough and then the preignition which can leave holes in pistons ect.
The daily 91 tune is pre-plug change. What does running colder plugs do or what should i watch for in a daily application?

Yeah, the colder plugs should work fine with the street tune. With mine, different type of plug, the gap is reduced from 0.054 to 0.035. Not sure about the s197 plugs on gap recommendations. Greg can help you with that. Mine does seem a little sluggish with the colder plugs and tighter gap, but nothing that has hurt performance. Could just be my imagination too for that matter.
As for before and after track times. My best all motor pass was a 13.55 @ 101 and my best nitrous pass with the same wheel/tire setup was 12.39 @ 112. With the new big/little tire combo, it has ran a best of 11.90 @ 114. My nitrous passes were on a 125hp shot. Keep in mind that Zex rates their kits at the crank and my kit is rated at the rear wheel. So your 125 shot will likely be closer to 100 shot at the tire. I may be wrong on the Zex ratings, but when I bought my setup I did alot of research and thats how they rated their kits then, about 2 years ago.
Good luck! That sh@t is addicting!!!

PM greg (kbcal) He can lead you in the right direction. He answered your questions inside the box he quoted you. You just have to look closely.
Also Lance is running a nitrous setup as well. You might get with him

Hey Deez, Lance "allstangs" is running this kit. PM him or maybe he'll chime in here.
He's had a lot of success with it at the track. Wanna say he ran low 12's with the 100 shot. Seems to have it dialed in right.
Greg is also a good resource.

Re: Nitrous/Tune/Spark plugs.... ?question?
Thanks for the compliment Dave! I do drive the car hard at the track, but it has come back to haunt me a time or two! Broken axle/differential for example!
If you don't already have one, I would highly recommend an RPM activated window switch. Here is the one I use...
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-8969 I mounted mine in the glove box to keep it away from the heat of the engine bay. It also makes it easy to adjust the settings from the drivers seat.
Here is a link to a NOS brand nitrous kit installation on MM&FF's website. Should be similar to how your kit will install.

I got my tunes from them also! On the dyno, my a/f #'s were really good, especially for a mail-order tune!

Re: Nitrous/Tune/Spark plugs.... ?question?
Where are you getting the 93 octane? Im guessing OKC?
Better not use it all getting to Tulsa. We only have 91 :(

You can get 93 octane real gas at the Shell station on highway 75 just before you get to Okmulgee....
