KevinGT wrote:I agree Brent. I am having a hard enough time glancing at my RPM gauge once my boost kicks in. I feel like I can either drive safely or glance down at the gauge but not both. There is a gauge that the entire face lights up red when you hit a dangerous range and also logs the data of a quarter mile run or whatever your doing.

Why do you tease me so? I want a supercharger more than I want to breath in and out...and you have to tell me about having trouble safetly driving when the boost kicks in? Thanks Kevin!! hehe

On a side note....how does the car feel? Better than your CarFX pushed centrifugal blower? lol!

The boost is actually pretty scary for me at this point but I am getting better at it. I can cruise at 40 mph in 3rd gear and get on it and the tires spin trying to get traction. Once they hook I am over 90 in no time. The first day I drove it I would boost up to 100 mph on the trip back from Dallas and then let off and laugh like Beavis.

At lunch today a Black Pontiac was riding my tail. I was in the slow lane but he was jumping between lanes trying to pressure someone to let him through. The car looked like it had a Shelby KR looking hood on it which I havent seen before but it was clearly a Pontiac car. Anyway he finally gets in the fast lane after the lady let him by. He looks over at me and guns it by me and instantly puts his signal on because he wants on the highway ramp 2 miles ahead. So i do what I always have done in the past and played the get over if you can game which is now much more fun with a blower. He was screaming into his bluetough headset when I hit the ramp. I can really see why a sleeper car would be alot of fun.

So is it pretty tame when your foot insnt in the Go pedal? What tires do you have on the rear? I would imagine with the 20s...you can spin those babies in no time...not much side wall. Also how loud is the whine from the Whipple? LOVE THE WHINE!!! Insert beavis laugh here

I have only had experience with the Prosport gauges in my '02 Harley Davidson F150. They're mostly used by Subaru owners, but alot of the Lightning and HD owners have used Prosport and like the quality and features that you can get for the $.

Here's a the link to their website...the wideband is in the digital gauge section.

Sorry Grabber,

I use the portal page to track new messages which does not seem to be the best method. Sorry I missed your questions so here goes.

So is it pretty tame when your foot insnt in the Go pedal?

Yes, it is completely stock feeling until you get over 2500 RPM, everything after that is faster. Faster speed and faster tach because of the 4.10 gears. basically I can peg that redline whenever.

What tires do you have on the rear?

I have the Nitto 555's but they are not the drag radials but the low profile ones. Love the look but they are about worthless for traction. I can break them loose in 4th gear if I get really aggressive.

Also how loud is the whine from the Whipple? LOVE THE WHINE!!!

Well the Whine is the best. My only issue is that I want more of it. Don't get me wrong If I had rear exhaust I think it would be perfect but at wide open throttle the exhaust drowns everything out. I actually went to an exhaust shop today asking what I could do. They recommended adding a resonator and/or Turbo Tubes. I have never heard of turbo tubes but he said that it was basically a chamber exhaust to help knock the noise down. We are looking at 100 bucks to try and I think I might. I know there will be some HP lose but what is the difference between 470 at the wheel and 450. (I know the performance guys are screaming at the computer screen now)

Thanks for answering my questions Kevin.

I say go with the resonators.....They shouldnt knock down the power at all...they are a straight through design. THe material around the tubing is what deadens the sound.

I currently have an Off Road X pipe, Borla Stinger mufflers, and welded in resonators dynomax 18'' bullets just after the mid pipe but before the axle. It deifinitely toned down the exhaust tremendously...BUT it also took away all of the Popping, trumpeting, and raspy sound!! All I hear now is smooth beautiful sounding exhaust! Do the resonators....not sure about the turbo tubes...never heard of them. They might do the trick as well.

Good luck!!

I'm confused. just how much horsepower do gauges add to your car?

Yeah I am going to start with a chambered exhaust and if that doesn't quiet it down enough I will go with resonators. I have a shop that I want to use but it needs to warm up a little before I take it out again.

Jarrod, About 10 minutes after I wrote that last post I got a call from Performance muffler and they had the turbo tubes ready. I just got back and it sounds so much better. The loudest thing by far now is the Whipple whine and not the side exhaust.

The original plan was to replace the MagnaFlow mufflers but we ended up leaving them on. So the front pipes are the turbo tubes then the mufflers.

We will see how this affects the Dyno numbers next week.
