Input for my father in law
he's got a 69 Camaro, running a 540bb with a 300 shot of NOS, he drags it in the 1/8th some, but mostly putts it around town (small town not Tulsa), so it's more of a street car than dragger.
he asked me to look up (he's got dial-up out in the country) a vacuum pump for a 95 Caddy LT1 350, and how much amps and HG's(?) it would pull.
Really have no idea what he wants me to find.....
found these links:

he said he called and talked to a tech at Moroso, and they stated their vacuum pump will die after one week of street driving, so no go on that brand
any ideas?
Thanks

Your best bet is to ask over at this forum, hardcore racers over there, just make sure to post in the newbie thread before you post or they will eat you alive. :)

Sounds like ha has a radical cam and is running power breaks. The cam isn't allowing the motor to build enough vaccuum. I'd say convert to manual brakes. I don't think there are many vaccuum cans that will hold enough for street use. Not sure on the pumps but I doubt it. Manual brakes ftw!

Ya... Common problem with big cam applications. They do make electric vac pumps/boosters. I'd check with summitt. I'm sure they have em. As far as what brand, etc. No idea. Never had to get one.
