does your husband also do glass work. i have a damaged cirvini's hood that needs repair and paint. don't know if it would make it all the way to tulsa with the small crack in it though w/o getting bigger. i also have a gt/cs rear facia to put on and would like to get custom stripes along the entire car bumper to bumper. i'm sure it would take to long to get it all done though as anytime i'm in the tulsa area i'm very limited on time.
Bob,
We are actually in Ponca City, about 90 mins West of Tulsa. He does do fiberglass work. Where is the hole? Did the hood fly up and get damaged? What color is the vehicle and what color stripes are you thinking about? It's possible you could drop off the hood to be repaired then bring the car back to get the stripes done.
Thanks for the interest.

itltrot wrote:Hello everyone! Thought I would finally register and introduce myself after lurking around gathering information for the last couple months. I have introduced a 2006 GT to my stable which consists of 1967 fastback, 1987 coupe w/2.3T, and 1991 LX hatch.
The '06 has dark charcoal leather, 5 speed, 18" polished bullitts, 3.55's, shaker 500, Ford CAI, Eibach sport pro springs, MGW shifter, CS front fascia, Cervini's 67 hood, street scene ducktail, sequential tails, tinted tails, clear corners, oh and highly custom paint done by my wonderfully talented husband.
The pictures don't do the paint work justice. It is capped with a brushed aluminum look, rivets, pinstripe and the center scoop has a spun aluminum effect to it. The majority of the cap has a slightly matted finish to show off the effects better.
Anyways, here are the pictures. Enjoy!

Wow...very nice.
That is the hood that I am wanting for my car. How much would your husband charge to paint a hood if I picked one up?

actually i bought it new damaged for only 250 bucks. so if i can get it repaired for anything less than 300 i'll still be under what a new one costs. my car is alloy grey and i'm looking to get the same alloy with just a hint of red for the stripes. just so you know it's there, but it's not super obvious. i don't know if the metal flake could be red to achieve this i just have in my head what i want. i haven't seen the color i imagine before. here's a few shots of the damage.
here is the same crack from the bottom of the hood.

them cracks look easy to fix. sand it down a bit, but take it out a few inches away from the crack and lay down a few layers of fiberglass, sand down, bondo, and wa la !!! crack gone. oh and allot of sanding and prepping.

Re: Newbie to the 3V world.....
cool. i just started to mess with fiberglass at my job. i fixed a crack on a truck hood. it came out ok. the hood was going to be on a "yard dog". so it didn't matter how perfect it was. hell at least if it did go to a body shop, that's less work they had to do. just to say. I'm always to find a cheaper rout.
