2006 Tungsten GT - KB 2.6 L Empty 2006 Tungsten GT - KB 2.6 L

Post by 2006KBGT 4/12/2008, 4:36 am

I plan on selling my '06 Tungsten GT with 2.6L KB. It's a 5-speed with a Roush wing, and the 18" chrome factory Bullit's. It has charcoal leather interior, and the Premium interior package (gauges, my-color option, Mach 500 sound system, etc.) The car currently has around 25,080 miles, of which about 6K has had the KB on it. I've driven it 'all out' only once (made one pass at the track - I don't street-race.)

I'm thinking about selling it b/c I really want a GT500. I really don't know what to ask for my car, though.

What do ya'll think is a fair price to ask for the car? I'm the type that won't price a car at the top-most that one would expect to get (and wait forever to get it). I generally price my cars fair, and will wait for the right, fair offer (I generally sell my cars within the first 2-3 weeks of listing in Auto-trader)....

I'm thinking starting between 27K-28K, and going from there (based upon Auto-trader prices for similar mileage/equipped cars (as best I could), then taking the SC into consideration....

Any/all suggestions are truly appreciated (lemme know if I'm off base in my guestimate, either up or down, please.)

I would probably start around 27k then come down if needed.

I think if you get 26k or higher for your car, you did good!

I'm not expert of pricing but $25-$31k range would be a good starting point. I'd take my time since I've seen many of the 08's still going for over MSRP early in the model year. If you wait for deals late in the 2008 season those prices will come down just like they did in 2007. This is unless you know someone with connections!!! I looked at a sharp Torch Red GT500 at Cooper a few weeks ago. MSRP was $48,000. I really liked that car but I'm not really in the market for another big purchase. Good luck with the sale!!!

im gonna assume the kb is some sort of supercharger. heres the thing the supercharger if its a good model raises the price tage tremendously, since its an 06 your fairly spot on on the price you might get higher. wait for a whiel see what offers you get i can't really give you a full price since i havent seen the car in person, but from what you have wrote you should get in your asking price range easy

Yes, it's a 2.6L Kenne Bell supercharger, 8 PSI pulley, 430+ RWHP, 420something torque (can't find the dyno sheet, was dyno'd at the dyno shop that was owned by Chris, now owned by Kurtis. Kurtis did all of the work and such.)

I'm seeing people price these cars all over the place, from 22K-33K, depending on how 'unique' they think their car is...(I've not seen a supercharged car listed under 28K.)

Like I said, I'd like to sell mine fairly quickly, when it's time to sell it (have to sell my 2000 GT as well, but that should be a 1-2 week sell at most.) I've got a couple GT500's that I'm looking at, and would like to close a deal in the next 3-5 weeks.

I've not found another Kenne Bell equipped GT for sale on Autotrader in the past couple weeks. If anyone else does, I'd appreciate it if you'd make note of the car and price, and post the particulars, to help me with my pricing.

It's tough....I'm at that pricing point where I need at least 26K to make it a decent deal (and even then, I'm eating a good bit), but I don't know what the loan value is on an '06 GT with 25K miles. It's surely less than 26K (I'm guessing the max a bank would loan would be around 23K or so, max), so anyone looking to buy my car would have to come out of pocket for some of it, and alot of people aren't able to do that when they're financing a car.

I know that in 1-2 years down the road, the financials will work out better for selling it. Heck, all around it would be better to wait (can probably get a GT500 for 38K or so in 6-18 months). Then again, I don't know what the new body style will be like, and what effect that will have on pricing on these cars.

I just know that I'm not wanting to put anymore money into my GT, as the styling I like is the GT500, and the power potential is silly. A 5.4 with Ford GT super-car heads, that alone would sell me on the engine. Then add a positive-displacement blower (and goodly upgraded over the Eaton, from what I understand....but a Kenne Bell would have to be in the plans) - I'm sold.

If ya'll see anyone selling a 05/06/07 GT with a Kenne Bell or Whipple, please make note, and give me an idea of what's being asked for these cars.

Thanks a bundle! :)
