Re: Noob from Enid
Thanks guys! It was a pleasure meeting all of you. I'm looking forward to going to more events. The Air Force is sending me on some trips to Alabama and Colorado in early '09 and spring '09, but I'll make it to as many things as I can. I'm going to order a new idler pulley asap, and start researching clutches. Then after that, it'll be either longtubes or an intercooler, followed by a tune. That should be good for low 12s (haha, yeah right, lol)

Re: Noob from Enid
On the clutch...Ive found a few things thus far. Some are suggesting..
-Centerforce DFX and the McLeod bearing
-Mcloud RST has gotten many praises
Here is a Quote from 94Tbird on Modularfords
"Twin disc if you want a stock feel. My Spec supertwin P trim is good for 1395 ft lbs of torque and it drrives better than my GT500 OEM did and has more slip than my Spec 3+ did. If you go with a single disc 3+ is the way to go"
Here is a quote from the same guy about the SPEC 2+ says to stay away
" would not recommend a spec 2+. With the weight of these cars it is not if it will fail, but when. If you search for the 2+ not only on this site but many others you will see tons of failures. It is not the clutches fault, it is the fact that our cars are so heavy they reduce the torque capacity rating of the clutch"
"its not the clutches fault. its the fact that our cars are ****pigs and the heavier the car the lower the torque capacity. This needs to be considered when purchasing a clutch. And spec is wrong for telling people a 2+ will work when it most certainly will not"

Re: Noob from Enid
wow, thanks for the help with the research! I think I'll turn away from the spec 2+ I've heard good things about the centerforce DFX as well, I might start looking for some deals on those. A new flywheel is required too, right?
