Whew...
For those who are already aware of what happened...I can report that the results were ultra-favorable! I'm viewing it as a second chance and I'm not gonna blow it. For a while there I was afraid I might lose my car due to insurance rates, but as it turns out, there will not be so much as a blemish now. Not gonna say the whole thing didn't cost me...talk about an expensive "ticket"

Re: Whew...
Lawyer yes. I got a fine and have to do the one day defensive drivers course...that's IT. It goes AWAY completely! Even my lawyer was like wow. We're not even sure the judge looked at the details...she seemed to be in a hurry :-) What a relief.

Re: Whew...
I feel your pain. I did it twice. 92mph in a 40 and the other was 125+ mph in a 65. I sold the mustang after that 125+mph.

"a skid pad"... what type of school is that? I just sat down and watch some old videos and I was having a hard time staying awake.

Re: Whew...
The driving course was worthwhile. I recommend it to anyone wanting to drive better and also lower their insurance rates.
We spent all of 1 hour in the classroom...the rest of the day was driving on the courses. You can drive your own car, or a company "police" car. It's cheaper driving your own...plus, of course I wanted to drive my Shelby!
At one point, we had to get up to 40 mph, heading right at a "light tree". For evasive maneuvering. You can go left or right. Trick is, you can't hit your breaks at all and you don't know which arrow will light up until the last minute. Then, you must quickly react. Not wanting to damage a car like ours, it made it a bit harrowing even at that speed.
Slolem, Skid pad, stuff like that. The skid pad was a different car we got in, which had gigantic "training wheels" on it that were computer controlled. It allowed the instructor to make it drive like it was on ice...practice getting out of over and understeering situations.
125 bucks. Here is the link:

Only skid pad is another vehicle, otherwise, it's in your own.

Re: Whew...
I'm gonna guess no on the discount...it's owned by Oklahoma State University and they seem to always be full. But 125 bucks is worth it. Call your insurance and see how much discount you will receive. It's state law they MUST give you a discount, FYI.
