WOOOOOOT!! VMP TVS on it's way.
Can't wait and had to share in my excitement in having the new POWER!!
Just a heads up I will have these for sale soon. Particularly you peeps with the 2011+ I will have an unlocked SCT X3 with 91,93 and 100 OCT VMP tunes (11+)for use with the 2.59" pulley along with the pulley removal tool. I can finally use my JLT 127 CAI so I will have a Resonator delete and an AirAid Blue filter for sale. As part of this deal I will have a brand new 3X OEM look H/E reservoir and brand new J&M billet LCA's for sale. I hope my OK brothers can find needs for those.
Now for the last piece of the puzzle...72# injectors. Always something

Since you're just up the road we should go "TVSing" sometime :-) But lets wait until it warms up or we'll just be ice skating.
I might be interested in your blue filter, is it newish? Synthetic or old kind?

Do you really need to change injectors? Doesn't seem to be a problem with mine anyway and Van did not suggest it.

Re: WOOOOOOT!! VMP TVS on it's way.
If you upgrade to different throttle body with the big cai and a small pulley you will be right on the edge of the stock fuel system, run lower pulley and you are way past the stock fuel system. Boost a pump and 72's will work,I went overboard myself on my fuel system but I wanted to have headroom and NO worries when my foot plants on the floor.

Yeah it's better to be safe than sorry. But I also read that the late models have some compensating features. Van and Justin both told me my 2011 would be fine, but then again they want to sell blowers.

Re: WOOOOOOT!! VMP TVS on it's way.
Yes with the FRPP 65mm TB and the JLT 127 CAI I will need the 72# injectors possibly but will for sure need them with headers and 10% lower. Plans are to have all the supporting mods for somewhere north of 700 rwhp. I am hoping I will have head room without a BAP since the tuners can turn up the voltage and duty cycles on the fuel pumps through the PCM.
We will see after datalogging.
Plan to both run Hallett, autocross and a number of drag events.
Yes, Airaid filter is the blue synthetic and still looks new.

Re: WOOOOOOT!! VMP TVS on it's way.
Oh and I did find a great deal on new flow matched 72# injectors. Spoke with the owner as I wanted to make sure they knew what they were doing after trading an email inquiry. Had a good conversation and then he said well I have been doing all the injectors on the Shelby Supersnakes, number of race teams and he named numerous race shops and performance modded cars. "Been doing it twenty years and everyone copies me", he says. Yeah he knows his stuff. Good enough for me.
$480 for NEW 72# flow matched injectors!!

Re: WOOOOOOT!! VMP TVS on it's way.
With the mods you are talking about you will be north of 20 pounds of boost, you should be somewhere between 20 to 22 pounds,at this point our crappy pump gas becomes an issue. Most guys don't like to go over 17 pounds with pump gas. I never run pump gas in my car but I also very rarely drive it,what kind of info are you getting about your future set up as to pump gas at those levels. I would like to be able to pull into a gas station and fill up but I am a little nervous at such high boost. I know the tune has lot to do with it but that's an expensive motor. Really like vmp interchangeable pulley system on their tvs but I am not taking mine off to swap,at the rate of gas prices 110 will be the same as 91 before long!

Re: WOOOOOOT!! VMP TVS on it's way.
Have not decided yet but the lower will be the last mod I install. Headers will be soon and will see about a pound of boost drop from that. I rarely drive it either. After a dyno I may just stop there if I am happy a pump gas tune then reach my goals on a race gas tune and avoid the lower altogether. With headers and O/R x pipe I am hoping I will only see about 16 pounds of boost. If so I guess a lower would put at 19ish lbs of boost.

Re: WOOOOOOT!! VMP TVS on it's way.
I don't have the headers but I do have all the other mods you are wanting and in the summer time I am right at twenty pounds, cooler weather I am sure I pick up close to a pound. Have been considering the headers, have not decided if they are worth the money for me. Human nature, never satisfied hahahahaha

Re: WOOOOOOT!! VMP TVS on it's way.
By the way, my interstate mileage went from 22-23 down to 17-18 with my TVS. That's with a Lund tune. Of course, that was a day it was 20 degrees outside, probably more of a dense headwind than when it was 100 outside when I got the 23 mpg. Still, kinda disappointing. I wish I could get another tune, specifically for road trips. Then again, I guess I don't do that too often in this car.
I also have the cobrajet throttle body. I dynoed 633 hp at the wheels, 601 torque.

Did you buy a new tuner? Why is yours for sale?
How much would you want for it off chance?

VMP TVS comes with another SCT X3 with its own tunes. I am looking for $350 for the unmarried tuner with the VMP tunes for an '11+ ready to go. I will also email the tune files after payment is received but you would really need to run the VMP 2.59 pulley with the tunes.

Re: WOOOOOOT!! VMP TVS on it's way.
Well all is installed. Install went very smooth. Awaiting a tune but I have a bigger problem. Installed the DSS CF Driveshaft. I have terrible vibration and cannot even make it out of the subdivision. I have been trading emails with Frank of DSS and will discuss with him in the morning what is next. Sounds like I am the first to have a problem. Lucky me! I have tried everything I can think of. Sent installation pics to Frank and he said 'textbook install'. Driven with the MGW a couple times and changed to 5 turns after having the DS removed. Think I like that better than four turns.
Meantime it is all buttoned up and sure looks good/fast. Sigh....

Looks great! Sorry about the DS issue. I'm sure you'll get it figured out. Pinion angle maybe? Keep us updated.

I am no expert at pinion angle but with +1 (right of zero) on the pinion flange and -3 (left of zero) on the DS gives me -2 or right on spec. Open for pointers or ideas on this issue.

That engine bay looks amazing! Sorry to hear about the vibration...might be a bad DS? Out of balance....just unlucky maybe?

Not sure if you measure from the DS or the transmission tail housing? Might research and see. I think I remember it being the tail shaft housing.

Re: WOOOOOOT!! VMP TVS on it's way.
Well both myself and DSS feel confident that the vibration is from a bad CV in the driveshaft. I would be one of two that this has happened in hundreds sold both aluminum or CF. Lucky me. They will be changing their testing/balancing procedures to ensure this does not happen again. Will have the new one tomorrow and will see from there.

Re: WOOOOOOT!! VMP TVS on it's way.
Installed the replacement DSS carbon fiber DS....smooth as glass. I knew the CV was the problem when the replacement DS arrived and confirmed the flexibility of the CV was vastly different from the defective one.
Test drove it tonight briefly for the first time since I installed the TVS. It was only 41 degrees so had to go easy. This thing is a whole new animal. Need some warm weather to get traction so I can data log and dial in this tune. I would rather get it to a dyno...looking into that.

Congrats! So glad the new DS fixed the issue. Too many times I've seen guys chase all sorts of vibration issues with aftermarket driveshafts.
