Wheels...
This is awfully tempting. Check this out:
Asanti AF135 / Evolution Performance Wheels with BF Goodrich G-Force KDW-2 tires. Like NEW. Only 900 miles on them!!
Wheels: Front 20x9.5, Rear 20x10.5
Tires: 285/30R20, 255/35R20
$1700 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not TOTALLY sure about them on my car, but OMG do you see how much those things are normally????

Re: Wheels...
That 285 width on the 10.5" wide rear is too skinny. But good looking wheels. Seems like a decent deal.

Re: Wheels...
Since I was wanting wider than 9.5 rims, these 10.5's would allow me to go wider on the tires. I'm certain these wheels will be heavier than my current ones...and the fronts would go from 19" to 20". Not sure how much heavier though.
I just can't get over the price, and I know they will be gone very soon. I almost want to buy them just to resell.
But if I'm about performance, my current wheels may be better as far as weight. I"m afraid I would get these on and feel sluggish.
I think this boils down to do I wanna go down the performance road, or the "good looks" road. Or, perhaps the reselling road lol. Surely I could get 2500 for this set??

Love the wheels! The tires are just "ok" I had them on my 07 bolt on GT and still had traction issues with them

They are definitely very blingy. I was thinking of maybe widening my stock SVT wheels to 10.5 or 11.0 in the rear....then I could throw on some 315's or something. I just know my stocks have to be lighter.

Re: Wheels...
These are the rims, and go to bottom to add 1160 for the tires.

1900 shipped...such a good deal, and I would get wider rears. But I kinda like the look of my current wheels, I'm not sure these are my style.
Here are some pics of similar car and wheels:

Re: Wheels...
OMG, I bought them LOL!
I could not resist. My plan is to try them on. If I don't like them, Im' sure I can make some money off them, certainly I won't lose any.
If I do like them, I guess I will sell my SVT wheels + tires.
The guy says he will ship them tomorrow. I'm excited! (here's hoping it's not a scam LOL).

Re: Wheels...
I will certainly post pics once I get them!!
I'm not 100% sure they will fit right off the bat. Front ones stock are 19", I don't THINK 1" higher will make any difference should it?
For the rears, I may have a small problem initially. I heard these wheels were custom offset by Evolution, and they told me that I may need to do some modification in side the wheel well, said something about some metal part that factory used to lift car might have to be shaved off. IDK. But since my originals are also 20", I'm hoping they will fit. although the new rims are 1" wider. They offset them to fit under more of the car they said.
I looked all around, 800 per rim is cheapest price I can find, which is 3200 for 4. Then, the 4 near new tires with only 900 miles on them, not to mention TPMS bands as well! THis looks to be a solid 4000 worth of equipment for only 1900. Fingers crossed. If I get them on and I do not care for them, I'll probably list them for 2999 on ebay lol. Gonna get ready to list my stock ones to test the waters. Anyone here interested in them? SVT gunmetal 19" front 20" rear and F1 Supercar tires 2500 miles on them.

Re: Wheels...
When you move up in wheel size, 19 to 20 as an example in your case the overall height of the tire wheel combo doesn't change. Rather a tire with a shorter sidewall or aspect ratio is used on the larger wheel. Something like 255/40/19 would be a 255/30/20. The first number is the tread width measured in millimeters the second number is the sidewall aspect ratio measured in percentage of the tread width (40% of the 255) and the last number is the wheel diameter. So assuming they came off a mustang of similar year they should fit right up.

Re: Wheels...
same tires i have on mine, but don't know how good they'll be now that it's pushing 500 to the wheels. i think they'll be good enough for driving around town or across the country, but definitely won't cut it at the drag strip.
if i ever go with a different set of wheels they will be able to hold some 325's out back. i have seen over on svt forums the guys in the GT500's either fitting 325's or 335's (can't remember which) without any mods. the backspace just has to be perfect to fit that big of a wheel

Re: Wheels...
I like em. Still 5 spoke so looks good on a muscle car. That red car did the custom hood vents...I saw a "how to" on that on a forum somewhere.
I think my next move is to get carbon fiber chin splitter, rockers, mudflaps, and hood vent insert. Shelby says they will have the chin splitter in this fall (they only have through 2009 models now). Stage3motorsports has a lot of these parts...expensive. Either Shelby or Trufiber. But I think with the grey color of my car, they will match great , like Jarrod has said in the past.
My wife may have vetoed my idea of a TVS supercharger. The only reason I was gonna do it was I found that one for 2300, but it got sold, plus, I would have replaced the pulley anyway...and needed an elbow. I may opt for the pulley + tune now...while doing this cosmetic stuff. Now whether I get a 10% overdrive is another story. I'm a little leary of "overdriving" the stock blower...it gets hella-hot.

Re: Wheels...
Those wheels are sick...I remember seeing them for sale on Evolution Performance site. I've been thinking about doing the 40th anniversary hood vents, but powder coating the honeycomb part black...want the ones outlined in carbon fiber. That stinks you have to wait so long on the splitter. I've been waiting all year for a signed dash plaque. Hope it arrives soon.

Yeah I got the hand signed dash plaque for the 2007-2009 models that you order at Shelby store. I used the money towards the Shelby adjustable lower front arms which are on the car now. I'm paranoid I'll never get it now...so guess it will be a nice surprise once it arrives.

Re: Wheels...
My wheels come tomorrow! Two things...do I need to have them balanced? They came off a car and were just sitting in a garage...so I doubt they have become "unbalanced" but wanted to make sure.
Second, it has older TPMS in them. I wonder if it will simply "plug and play" with my car, or if I will have to swap out the TPMS from my other wheels?
Third, I found out that the weight of the SVTPP wheels, with tires, is 60.5 lb front, and 61.5 lbs rear. From UPS I obtained weights of 61 and 62 lbs for my Asantis + KDS tires + SHipping material. Subtract a few lbs for packing, and that means my new wheels will actually be lighter than my stock ones!! This is HUGE! I was afraid they might be heavier...but they are a bit lighter! I'll take them out and weight for sure tomorrow. Excited!

From what he said 2 or 3 years old..."band" style TPMS and I read the newer ones moved to a different design. Seems like an awful lot of work to switch them out (remove tires from 8 rims !)

Re: Wheels...
may be a good time to get a custom tune and turn off TPMS. How badly do you need to know your tire pressure?
Re: Wheels...
LOL, I guess I don't really!
Speaking of tire pressure, I understand you will get better grip with lower pressure. What kind of pressure do you guys run? Want more contact area, but not too low as too cause too much uneven wear.
