deck lid emblems?

Post by Vandy9303 on 5/20/2011, 5:55 pm

some are spaced apart, some (like mine) are close one the drivers side. is this a year by year thing or a mod. i personally like them spaced across the back and im thinking about doing it. anyone on here do one? know how they are attached? best way to get them off?

blow dryer and fishing line works really well. could cause tiny scratches though i suppose. hair dryer alone might do it then just pull them off by hand.

Vandy....all 07-09 GT500's come with them close together on the drivers side. 2010+ came with them centered.

There is a Shelby Template you can use to space them. They are stuck on with a 3m type stick pad

Cant remember for the life of me who has that Shelby decklid template.....Maybe Josh?

Using a thick floss works well to take off emblems. Work it back and forth in a sawing motion to get the floss under the emblem. You should be able to pick them clean off of the adhesive tape. Goof-off ( not Goo-Gone) works the best to remove excess adhesive and residue.

Our cars really did do a great job of paying homage to the original GT500. The original in '67 wasn't centered as well. I think it looks good either way.
