Spark Plug Diagnosis

Post by Shelby10' on 4/15/2011, 11:18 pm

Looking at your spark plugs can be a great way to tell how your engine is running. I found this chart to be most helpful!!

Word Docuement file: http://www.modularfords.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=58746&d=1235656476

Here's link to web page on plug chart: http://www.dansmc.com/Spark_Plugs/Spark_Plugs_catalog.html

These charts have good info in them, BUT from what I have read:

"good info...

but isnt the "correct" way to read your plugs go something like

wide open throttle pass, at the top of your run you need to shut the car off..pull over an dpull plugs for accurate reading.

driving around and/or going wot then slowing down etc just changes that reading."
