I had the KDW 2s on my 07. They did a decent enough job dry and wet.
Do you know of any better gripping tires besides some drag radials?
I mean there are some great tires out there....the Nitto 555s, KDW 2's, Michelin Pilot sport P2s, Continental DWS Extreme tires (This is my next purchase as they are all season tires, plus the shelby and porche guys love them). BUT all seem to be a good choice in tire.
If your wanting better traction than that, you are going to have to go to a drag radial...which will only last you about 5000-8000 miles depending on driving habits. Plus your going to pick up every rock you roll over. Not my recommendation if you daily drive this car.
So when you list the DWS's up there are you saying you believe them to have close to the same dry traction ass the 555's and KDW's? I know they are all weather so I would assume they'd get up some dry traction and increase in wet traction.

Cant say as I have never owned them. But I need a tire that will get me through the winter as well AND provide adequate traction for the Shelby. The DWS's seem to fit the bill
If your looking for ultimate dry traction you need a Summer Performance tire.

Well I've decided to get 285 NT05's. Theyre not too much for than NT555s, I can get em at Hibdon for 236.99 each. Now just gotta find some time to go get em.

My other possibility is the Invos. Do they last a substantial amount longer? I kinda want them for the extra wet traction.

Re: Getting new tires! Need help! :)
Well I ended up with 295/30/18 Invos. They were like a hundred bucks more overall than the 275s and my dad said if I wanted it I could pay the difference so I did. Just have to wait till wednesdays. Do you guys think I could get 2-3 summers out of this if I say away from donuts and burnouts.
I forgot I was gonna have to wait since nobody stocks nittos so on friday I was like sweet new tires after school lets go burn these up, did a crap load of donuts before school in the parking lot. This is my tire now. No going fast or on the highway till I get the new ones I'm afraid these just might pop.

Re: Getting new tires! Need help! :)
better hope theyr not 9.5. the 295 invoes dont like 9.5 inch rims. most likely 10. should fit and feel good. i personaly think 295 is alittle over kill for the hp your running but itll be nice for when you up your hp.

I just wanted them for the badass-effect, also I'm hoping maybe just maybe they will offer some rim protection.

the invoes have a VERY fat rim protector on them. you'll have to work to damage rims.

Re: Getting new tires! Need help! :)
Finally got em!
These suckers grip awesome compared to my HTRZ II's. Used to I'd spin about 3/4s of the way through second if I mashed the pedal. Now all I get is a little chirp going into second. And from a dead stop these babys rock, so much less spinning with the same amount of throttle! I love them. Definately glad I got the 295's too I think they look great.
So basically now, a few hundred bucks on the rear suspension and Ill be good to go at the drags!

You might already be ok on suspension Barrett....I forget if you have Control arms? Might just need a good set of drag radials to mount

Re: Getting new tires! Need help! :)
Not that I know of, but I don't think I even need radials unless I want to do some launching. Right now if I just punch it from a dead stop I barely get any spin. I will have to take speed bumps a little slower, I only have about 2" of clearance.

I thought you were talking about the drag strip......The strip surface is much different than the asphalt on a regular street. To achieve the best 60ft times and hook properly at the track....a drag radial would be my choice.

Took it out right after it stopped raining, I actually had trouble gettin her to slide. I was in a small area so I couldn't really just whip it out full throttle with the wheel pinned but still I'm impressed with these tires!
